Hey everyone,
This seems to be a topic that always has a lot of debate surrounding it & I guess depending if your a male or female your point of view may be somewhat different...but, maybe you can help share your thoughts & opinions on this...I came across an article that highlights female teacher sex offenders and it seems to show how in most of these cases women sex offenders seem to receive lighter sentencing penalties compared to a male offender...Anytime a new story surfaces about a female teacher having some type of sexual affair with her student the media seems to be fascinated & intrigued by it, and in many times tends to focus on how "attractive" and "sexy" she may be, whereas a male offender is labeled as a "creepy, predator"....I guess the real question is, why does it seem as if women sex offenders are viewed differently by society and tend to receive special treatment & less sentencing penalties compared to a male offender who commits the same crime?

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?...And do you agree that our current legal system may have its sort of a double standard between women & male offenders?
