LOL!! Squirrel blamed for power failure to 6,700 customers in Hamburg, Orchard Park
A squirrel possibly caused a power failure that affected more than 6,700 customers of New York State Electric & Gas this morning.
The power failure was reported at about 8:15 a.m. and affected customers primarily in the Town and Village of Hamburg and, to a lesser degree, the Town of Orchard Park.
Full power was restored by about 9:45 a.m., said a spokesman. It's believed the failure was caused by a squirrel in a substation, he said.
