Talking Missing Girl Found Alive With Suspect

(May 15) - A little girl was found alive Wednesday after being snatched near her home a day earlier, and her older sister is credited with helping lead police to the carnival worker arrested in the case.

A man abducted Lesley Perez, 4, as she played with 12-year-old sister Brianda in a field near their Hidalgo, Texas, home, KRGV TV reported. The attacker punched Brianda as she clung to Lesley and tried to fight him off, authorities said.

Brianda’s description of the kidnapper and his vehicle was key in leading authorities to Lesley and the suspect, Christian Elijalee McMillan, who has a history as a sexual predator.

"She was an incredibly informative witness for us," said the FBI’s John Johnson, according to the Brownsville Herald.

Authorities tracked Lesley down at a farm near Mercedes, Texas, where McMillan, 23, was renting a room. Red marks around Lesley’s wrists indicate she was tied up at some point.

"I'm a little sick," Lesley told KRGV after the ordeal, "but it's OK because I like to be with my family."

Hooray for the heroic Big Sister Brianda! Fighting and thinking, that's my kind of girl!

But what's the deal with the press talking to the 4 year-old? I don't think that's appropriate, honestly...and...are RSO's allowed to travel around with carnivals?!
