Octo-Mom Still in Hospital to Remove Uterine Tumors

Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman is back in the hospital.

After undergoing surgery to remove fibroids -- benign muscular tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus -- Suleman's mother, Angela Suleman told Usmagazine.com that she will have to go under the knife again.

"They tried to do surgery to remove the fibroids, but she was bleeding excessively, so they stopped," Angela told Us Thursday. "They are going to try again Monday."

Angela -- who added that Suleman might be hospitalized for more than two weeks -- has not been to visit.

"She doesn't want anybody to go," Angela said. "Besides, I'm too busy. With all her kids and stuff and the six going to school and the other eight. So, I stay there during the night. We hold the babies and make sure everyone is settled in."

Although she doesn't plan on bringing the 14 children to the hospital to see their mom, they have been asking about her.

"Especially Caleb," Angela said. "During the night, he's crying, 'Mommy, mommy.'"

Angela isn't worried, however. Uterine fibroids, which affect about 30 percent of women of reproductive age, do not always need to be treated surgically. For women who need treatment, such as Suleman, surgery has a very high success rate.

"She's fine, she's a tough woman," she toldUs.

Now that she's watching over the octuplets, the grandmother can start to distinguish their personalities.

"They are healthy," she said. "Two of the boys are very quiet. The girls are feisty and the others scream and fuss a lot."
