Crash kills 17-year-old charged in 2008 deaths
Authorities in Detroit say a 17-year-old accused of killing two women while driving a stolen U.S. Army van last year has died after crashing another stolen vehicle.
Police say Gary Williams was charged with two counts of second-degree murder Saturday, hours after he was critically injured in the second crash.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says DNA evidence tentatively implicating Williams in that crash wasn't processed until last month because of a crime lab backlog.
Police say that on Friday Williams was driving another stolen car with four teens aboard when he ignored a red light and hit another car. Williams died Sunday.
The four teens and the driver of the other car remain hospitalized. Their conditions were not given.
