KATY, Texas — A 12-year-old suburban Houston girl is in juvenile custody after police accused her of shooting her father fatally.

Officials say 38-year-old Mark A. Nelson of Katy died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Assistant Police Chief Tim Tyler says police were sent to the Nelsons' home shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday after a relative called 911. Officers found Nelson lying on his side in the master bedroom, shot once in the back of the head. Tyler tells the Houston Chronicle that Nelson worked nights and may have been trying to sleep when he was shot.

Nelson's daughter was charged with aggravated assault before he died. Friends tell the Chronicle that there was ongoing tension between the girl and her father.

As most of you know, I hate my adoptive mother with a passion, but I would have never killed her because I was not about to sit in jail for the rest of my life no matter what she did to me, I had fantasies of her dying in a car wreck, but none I would have ever acted on. Today's youth are a pile of messed up people. I know, I have a god daughter who is a complete Knucklehead, did I tell you all she got caught shoplifting? She tried to boost two bras from Kohl's got caught and spent two nights in jail till her bail money could be raised because we are all poor as church mice and the minimum was $1,000 and our friend Doug dug deep into his pocket and bailed her sorry ass out. She had to go to court last week to face the judge and I gave her a lecture like she never heard before from me. I told her I was disgusted with her, she needs to find some direction in her life and hanging around with losers is not what I want to see her do. I told her to take all the hardware out of her face, she looks like she ran into a nail gun, but don't you know these kids think they look cool?? To wear something respectable unlike the funky outfits she usually wears and to dye her back to her natural color as it usually is three different colors. She complied and the judge went kinda easy on her and he yelled at her which I had hoped he would and she got three months probation, she has to go back to school in the fall and to get a job ASAP! If she does not comply, she does 90 days in jail. Well with a record now, and no diploma, her chances are slim to none on the job scene so what does she tell me today she is doing?

Moving to TX to live with her alcoholic loser uncle and his crazy ass girlfriend?? I was like WHAT??? According to her, he can get her and her lame bisexual queen of a friend a job where he works and I was like doing what? Apparently Joe is a manager of an apartment complex so they will be cleaning and painting and other jobs and frankly, I don't see them doing it, they both are lazy, her room used to be a place you did not want to go even with her Mother nagging, her room always looked like hell. Briefly, when she turned 18 last year they both got an apartment together. Devon was getting SSI payments because his parents had both died and he was not smart enough to know when he turned 18 the payments would stop unless he was in school. Well he was going to the Sylvan Learning Ctr just like Holli, both of them had to go for only SIX HOURS A WEEK and could not even pull that off because partying is more important so because he quit, he lost his check and they both were evicted for non-payment and are being sued and the landlord keeps bugging her parents and I know that they will never pay her the $2,000 they owe her, but she was dumb enough to rent it to them without asking for money upfront to move in so she never got a security deposit and they trashed the place from what I hear. Now these kids are not dumb, just lazy and the only thing they really know how to do well is spend money and go on the computer, She is home right now and her parents are leaving Sunday on a cruise and Auntie will be over at the house till Tue when I have surgery and then a nephew is gonna be there. My godson, my baby, Ian is 13, and technically he could stay by himself, but he wants me to stay there and how can I refuse my favorite boy anything?? However, the other two are not aware of that fact and will find out tomorrow. I don't trust them and neither do her parents as we are afraid the minute they leave, they will think it's party time and that ain't happening!!!

Now with that said, LE is not saying much as to why this girl shot her father, like the usual, he was physically and mentally or sexually abusing her, but I have a feeling he might have been a strict father and she was rebelling like all young teens do and let's face it, now we have another young person murdering a parent and I think it has a lot to do with how they are being parented or a clear case of a brat not getting her own way. I would say we will be hearing about a motive at some point and I would say that due to the severity of the murder, and it is TX, she will be charged as an adult and that is the way it should be, if they were to sentence her under the juvenile law, she could be out by her 18th birthday and 8 years is not long enough for murder. Eric Smith, that creepy red-headed kid from NY, murdered at age 13 and was sent to juvie till he turned 18 and is now doing adult time at Danamora. I posted about two losers from VT in the 80's that murdered a 12 year old girl and severely injured another one and they were 15 and 16 and the 15 year old was incarcerated at a juvenile facility till he turned 21, so he did 6 years for rape, murder, sodomy and mutilation of a 12 year old girl and the rape and sodomy and mutilation of another 12 year old girl and when he got out, he changed his name and God only knows where this scumbag lives today.

We heard rumors that he was in AZ, but how the hell would you know? His real name was Jamie Savage. The other POS whose name is Louis Hamlin Jr, was charged as an adult and got 45-life and he is in a CO prison. Both of these losers came from horrible families, violence and alcohol and drug abuse, Hamlin's father is incarcerated for rape of a child and his mother was a complete ho and has been in and out of jail even since her son has been locked up ,you see her name sometimes in the paper and you are like? No surprise there. Savage's mother had him at age 14 and he never did know a daddy and she too was in jail most of his young life and his sister ended up being murdered at age 16. None of this matters a lick for what they did, they tore those girls up, so bad, the one that survived had to have surgery to repair her rectum and she can never bear children, imagine having to have a hysterectomy when you are 12??? Both of these scumbuckets deserved the DP but look, Savage got a pass basically and I am sick to death of people using their sh*tty childhoods as a reason for harming others and believe you me, their lawyers tried that ploy but Vermonters were so outraged over this, that the State's Attorney made sure they were doing time. He did try to fight Savage's parole and was not successful, his lawyer whined that they could not keep him past his 21st birthday as no one ever asked that he be kept locked up past that, he got 6 years total for what he did. While in the juvie hall he attacked other inmates, broke one's arm and raped another boy and still, they let him out!!! So we will have to wait till LE or a DA tells what the motive might be and what they are seeking.

Was talking with a friend last night about a neighbor kid (who is 16). Seems she (the kid) went to the office after school and turned in her school books and told them she was quitting, then went home and told her parents that if they got her a car, she'd go back. She had a brand new Milibu in the driveway the next day! WTF! The parents needs a good flogging as much as their kid does! Talk about being enablers! Yet another reason I remain childless. I'd be so strict with my kids, I would probably be killed before he/she hit puberty.

If I had done half of what kids pull nowadays, my ass would have been so black and blue I would not have been able to walk! And a friend of my goddaughter pulled the same crap as you described, she pulled the I am not going to school crap until I get a car and I got one better, she got a brand new BMW!!!! This horrible brat was adopted and she had a horrible life till her kind parents adopted her and she pushed their buttons and I am betting they were giving into every whim because of that fact and they were not helping her. I was staying with Holli's grandmother while my then apt was being painted and I was laying down and ya know how you get that feeling that somebody is standing over you? I woke up and her hand was on my pill bottle which is narcotic and I was like what are you think you are doing? She tried laying some lame ass excuse that she was "borrowing" a ciggie and I knew better, her hand was on the bottle not the pack. I told my friend and she called her daughter and she called the parents and they were upset so they took away the car so what she do? Tells the cops I tried to hit her! I will be honest, I wanted to kill her!! Her parents ended up putting her away ,this kid was damaged goods. I don't know why parents give in, I had to earn anything past shelter, food, and clothing and nowadays adult children live at home, they don't work, they do not even pick up after themselves, they ask for money and the parents just hand it over so you can guess why Casey Anthony is the way she is.
