Mass. mother charged with stabbing 2-year-old girl

GARDNER, Mass. – Police say a Massachusetts woman has been charged with using a pair of scissors to inflict 100 wounds on her 2-year-old daughter. Her lawyer says his client believed she was being stalked by a cult.

Susan Johnson can be heard saying "Die! Die!" on a 911 call made by a security guard who subdued the woman in a laundry room at a Gardner apartment building Wednesday night.

Police say the 38-year-old Johnson also used an electrical cord to try and strangle the toddler. Many of the wounds were superficial. The girl was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say Johnson did not live in the apartment building.

Her lawyer, Peter Binder, says Johnson is paranoid.

She was ordered to undergo a competency hearing at her arraignment Thursday.

She's paranoid/depressed, not taking her medications and doesn't even remember the attack. What in the world was she even doing with a child in the first place?

Off her meds and not one soul keeping tabs to make sure she doesn't and is allowed to have a child this deeply mentally ill? I am so glad the child will live, but can you imagine how traumatized she must be? And the only thing that will happen to Mama is she will be committed until some lame doctor declares she is fit to be released and how many other skitzoids have convinced doctors that they will stay on their meds??? I remember seeing a case on TV last week where this scumbag in NYC, hospitalized many times, only to be released, and one day on the subway platform some voice in his head tells him to push this innocent young woman off the platform where she hits the third rail and is run over by the train! Her family is beyond outraged when they find out that this POS had been in and out, refused to take meds and not one soul was monitoring him, he had been violent before that day, sent to Bellvue many times, the talking heads there defended themselves by saying that his insurance would not cover longer stays and that was a cop out, he could have been committed to a secure facility for life, he was deemed very dangerous and yet, they time and time would let him back out.

Her family sued but even better, NY enacted Kimberly's Law where someone that dangerous is not to be released back into society without constant monitoring such as a secure group home. He did go to prison, her parents were not about to let him just get shuffled back to the hospital and he is there for the next 40 years. Look at Andrea Yates, same thing, her insurance would not cover longer stays and had they, 5 children would be alive today. Here is this broad, stabs her child 100 times and what do you think will happen to her?? Jail or hospital?? I am so sick of the almighty dollar being more important than people's lives. I felt that I should have stayed in the hospital longer, everyone is different, I don't heal as fast as some people, but oh no, they would only cover two days and I still don't feel that great and i still have more surgery coming up. I hope that this scum never sees that child again, and that she is given to a loving family, and the state of MA needs to do some fast action, but you watch somebody will try to cover their asses!
