What's the Motive?

I just don't see any of the family having a plausible one.
Ronald- I'm blank
Crystal- child support? (is she going to risk going to jail)
Misty - I'm still thinking. LOL
Chad - between Crystal and him this twosome is (alledged)suppose to support 5 children, why only one missing
the rest of the family members from both sides in my opinion have no motive at all.
Although I've heard a theory, because all the media attention on Caylee generated big money, maybe someone was trying to cash in! Wait til the reward gets to a certain amount and release her at the next Golden Arch!
That's one opinion
Or an unknown- and I don't even want to think of that motive.

Thumbs up

I'm totally with you on the "who dun it"?

You forgot to mention the scenario regarding Ron being an informant and drug usage ...

I agree, Snoop. Unless there is a possible drug connection, IMO, I don't see any.
I am still going with some pervert/killer taking a child that was seen as an easy target....much like Jessica Lunsford.

Maybe it's the warm weather in Florida that these SO's like...less cumbersome and an easier way of life, we only know about the 44 LE has on file...what about the other 144 they Don't.

Though my prayers at night are about finding her alive and well, realistically,
it just doesn't seem possible.. but we also thought that about Elizabeth Smart. I guess miracles do happen, don't they?

while i am not forming any opinions on this case yet, one thing has always stuck with me.

i live in a mobile home and its rather large but i will tell you this right now, no matter WHERE U ARE in this house, i can hear a CAT move, let alone someone coming in from outside, the floors and walls are hollow and carry sound extremely well, and taking a step in the kitchen vibrates in the master bedroom at the other end of the house, so i dont see how this girl was home when someone just walted right on in and stole this little girl right outta the same room, its not adding up to me

Hey JLette! I think personal anecdotes like yours, and also the former resident who lived in that very trailer, are exactly why people think that Misty was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

lol well...........she was on SOMETHING thats for sure, but quite frankly im beginning to think she isnt the only one either, i think that couple both have some substance abuse issues that they are not addressing and it probably has something to do with this little girl disappearing. only reason i say that is because if you watch Ron Cummings speak on the news about his daughter, he is very.............monotone? about it, like, i don't know the man obviously but it seems to me as though he is rather robotic when he is pleeding for this daughter to come home.....but maybe he is medicated, like i said i dont know the whole situation, but something isnt right here

TruLover is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't see a credible motive for either Ron or Crystal, although there is a rumor that he sent Haleigh to an aunt in GA. I doubt that.
One of the things that bother me is why would someone leave a light on, or why would they turn the light on in the first place?
Misty's inconsistencies are the key here.
First, she wakes up at 3:00, gets up to go to the bathroom OR get a drink of water, notices the light on in the kitchen, sees the back door wide open, runs back to the bedroom to get her cell phone to call Ronald, and THEN... she notices Haleigh is missing. HUH? If the child was sleeping 4 feet from her bed, why would she not notice her gone BEFORE she does all this other stuff? It doesn't make sense.
Her story doesn't add up. I don't think she was home when this happened.

With all the drugs etc. she supposedly did over the weekend, she had to be horribly hung over, if nothing else. Personally, I don't believe she was there unless she was practically unconscious from doing some drug.

Misty's explanation is reasonable to me. I think what has happened is that LE thought she knew something but they were wrong.
Misty has said they sleep with the lights off so she is accustomed to getting up in the dark. The bedroom was dark when she got up that night and she didn't see that Haleigh was gone.

Was she going to pee or get some water? It doesn't matter. Maybe both.

After leaving the bedroom, she sees the light in the kitchen and then sees the back door is open. She hasn't changed her story. The light was on but she didn't turn it on.

She returns to the bedroom to get the phone and sees Haleigh is not in her bed.

Why would the kitchen light be on? The most likely reason was that whoever came in was not afraid of anyone in the house. After looking around and finding no one awake, they picked up Haleigh and carried her out. jmo
