Drew A. Smith, 29, of Huron, Ohio and a former gym teacher and assistant football coach at St. Mary Central Catholic High School has reportedly been charged with two counts of sexual battery for allegedly
having sex with an 18-year-old female student.
Reportedly police say that it appeared the conduct was consensual and the student was 18 years old at the time of the alleged incidents. The charges against smith owe to the fact that he was a teacher and coach and cannot engage in sexual activity with students under Ohio law.
Police say that Smith admitted to the relationship with the student.
