Home where John Couey lived destroyed by fire
Well I think this is good news.
http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2...troyed+in+fire
Investigators are still examining the scene of Sunday night's fire.
CITRUS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A fire overnight in Citrus County destroyed the home of where convicted killer John Couey once lived.
The blaze broke out at the empty mobile home on Snowbird Court in Homosassa just after 11 p.m.
Couey is on death row for the murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford. Couey was found guilty in March of 2007, of premeditated murder, kidnapping, sexual battery and burglary.
Investigators found the girl's body behind the home in 2005.
There is no word yet on what sparked the fire, although fire investigators are calling the blaze suspicious.

Should've happened before he kidnapped Jesse........and it's
Too damn bad he couldn't have been in there when it burned up. A befitting send off on his way to hell for all that he's done.
SOB shouldn't be breathing air.

True.
The county will now make them remove the trailer from the site due to it being a safety hazard now.
At least the Lunsfords will no longer have to look out and see that house of horrors when that happens.
imo

That POS should have been nailed to the floor and then set it on fire, let him scream all for eternity, and tonight he sits in a cell, probably watching TV or doing those damm puzzles of his, not a care in the world, he never showed an ounce of remorse, the only time I saw him look emotional was the day he was formally sentenced to death and he knew he was headed for the Big House, no more cable color TV or guards buying him sodas that he enjoyed in the county jail as there is no cable on death row and a CO wouldn't buy that scumbag water if he was dying, they look at him every couple of hours, shove his food tray through the food port three times a day and every other day bring his nasty ass to the showers, that is all they have to do there, he gets no special treats on DR. What galls me is it still will be about 10 years before they needle him and I am hoping in that time, they bring back the chair and he and Smith become Candidate Number One and Two and they dixie fry to the chair, one can hope can't they?

Wind149 Yes one can hope. Is Smith the one from Ohio? If so yes, he's right next to Couey. That car wash video was one good piece of evidence for a conviction.

Smith was convicted for kidnapping, raping and strangling 11 year old Carlie Brucia in Feb '04 in Sarasota Florida, yeah, just another sick scumbag from that state and the car wash video cinched it for the DA and he too sits his nasty fat ass on DR and I really hate this POS too, his reason for doing what he did? He was high and his wife has left him, so he took his hate out on that beautiful child and I remember after he was sentenced to death her mother Susan Schorpen was asked what she thought about the sentence and her response was "He is still breathing, my baby isn't" I was so sad for her at that moment because even though he got a death sentence, real justice was not served that day, he was not put to death that day, and 11 years from now he probably will be executed, but it isn't really justice. If you have a scumbag like him where there is no other actor involved, what in hell should be appealed? He snuffed the life out of a child and he gets to sit on the taxpayer's dime for 12 plus years, having somebody advocate for HIS LIFE, ah isn't the system so fair? Bleeding hearts think more about these POS's than the victims and I have no use for people like that, not one bit.

Absolutely! To bad he wasn't in it, that would've been even better news.
