David Cherry
David Cherry, a former Staunton River High School teacher will spend seven months
in jail for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Thirty-nine-year-old Cherry was convicted Monday morning on seven misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Prosecutors say Cherry had a sexual relationship with a
16-year-old girl while teaching computer science classes in 2005. The girl reported the crime in 2007, after graduating.
In addition to jail time, Cherry will also give up his teaching license and pay a $2,500 fine.
