You may recall the plight of the dogs that were taken from former NFL star Michael Vick for being used as fighting dogs. The majority of these dogs were taken to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary where they were evaluated and have undergone vigorous day to day training and love.
Now, the first dog, Oscar, has officially passed his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test and is up for adoption. However, Oscar didn't find it quite as easy as was anticipated. It seems that just days prior to his official testing, some ground where they do the testing at was recently plowed an upturned a bunch of goathead s which are sharp little weeds, that hurt severely when they come in touch with your body. Not only that, but a pile of red ants were unfortunately under the area where Oscar was to sit.
Naturally his reactions to both of these didn't fair well for the testing, but he was later given another test in an area free of natures varmints and he passed with flying colors. Now Oscar, a beautiful pit bull, the first of the Vicktory dogs, will be placed in a good home and can live his remaining years in a loving, decent home.
