James Chase
A 70-year-old Covington teacher has been sentenced to 104 months in prison for obtaining child pornography.
James Chase, of Ludlow, taught at Two Rivers Middle School.
In July of 2008, he entered a guilty plea and admitted that he used his computer to download more than 3,000 images of child pornography.
Attorneys say the images included depictions of minors under the age of 12 engaged in sexual conduct, as well as images of sadistic and violent conduct.
A United States District Court judge sentenced Chase in Fort Mitchell on Monday.
Under federal law, he must serve 85% of his prison sentence.
Chase will then have to be on probation for the rest of his life, as well as register as a sex offender.
