Devils Knot

Read this book a while ago and thought it was really well written and gave you loads to think about- it is about the case of the west memphis 3
How many of you believe that these three were wrongly convicted . Apparently now, the father of one of the victims has done a compete U turn and says that the wrong people are in prison

I read the book and thought that the stepfather should have been investigated better. If they had I think the three in prison now would have never ended up there. My heart went out to all the families involved but the stepdad gave me the creeps.

It is that creepy stepfather who now says they are innocent- here's another couple of things that you might find interesting- bitemarks were found on the victims, not long after 'creepy stepfather' has his teeth taken out, he said on one of the documentaries that it had to be done as they had decayed due to medication he was on, i can't remember the medications name but there were no side effects that would have caused problem with teeth.
He also once slipped up and said something about his 'wifes murder' You are right he should have been looked at more closely by the police. Even if he hadn't though, i don't think there was any where near enough evidence to convict the 3. I know they had the confession of Jessie but if you have ever seen police interrogations you can sort of see why some people would confess to something they had not done just to get them to stop ( look into the case of Michael Crowe)
Anyway i am waffling on so i will finish this post now lol

These three were convicted cause they were different. That to me is an injustice. The evidence did not support them doing the murders. The interrogation of Jessie they fed him what to say. These kids were in school a the time of this, they never really should have looked at everyonemand when they had the stepdad in for questioning I thought that he should have been arrested for this. Will have to pull the book back out to get the things that made me think that.

This was such an amazing book, and it was the first true crime one that I picked up...it's the reason I read true crime today.

I believe that all of the boys are innocent and it troubles me that a fear of something "different" is what spurred an attack on them.
