Scott Kimball case deepens

FBI team searches grounds of home of missing uncle

...
Scott Kimball has denied that he's ever hurt anyone.

An FBI team will continue today to comb the yard and a home where a former informant-turned-suspect once lived, searching for possible clues in the disappearance of his uncle almost four years ago.

"Members of the FBI and our law enforcement partners are following up on the Terry Kimball investigation," FBI spokeswoman Kathy White said Thursday of the work under way on the 10-acre property.

FBI investigating if man is linked to disappearances

DENVER - 9Wants to Know has learned the FBI is investigating a man who may be responsible for the disappearance and possible murder of four people from the metro area.

The three women and one man were friends or related to Scott Kimball. The 42-year-old Denver man is currently in jail in Jefferson County on other charges.

The FBI, which is investigating along with the U.S. Attorney's office, says it found pictures of four other women in Kimball's possession and agents hope the public can identify those women.

KUSA - The FBI is one step closer to identifying pictures of women found in their investigation of a potential serial killer.

9Wants to Know has learned that one of four previously unidentified women is said to be fine and not connected to the disappearances of at least four people. The FBI did not release any other information about her.

FBI agents have still not identified three of the women. Agents found their pictures during their investigation of 42-year-old Scott Kimball.

Suspect eyed in 4 vanishings

Feds are investigating a man held in Jeffco in connection with 2003-04 disappearances.

A man is in custody in Jefferson County who federal authorities believe is connected to the disappearance of at least four people.

Scott Lee Kimball, 41, is in jail on unrelated charges as authorities investigate his link to the disappearances of Jennifer Marcum, Kaysi McLeod, Terry Kimball — Scott's uncle — and Leann Emry of Aurora.

Information from a search warrant issued for Kimball's laptop computer in 2007 showed that information about three of the four was in his computer, according to court documents obtained by 9News.

Also found on his computer were images of bondage, sex acts and rape as well as photos of four other unidentified women, whose whereabouts are unknown.

FBI gets tips in disappearances

Wife of suspect in inquiry says he's a serial killer

The wife of a man under investigation in the disappearance of four people told 9News on Friday she is sure her husband is a serial killer.

Lori McLeod said her husband, Scott Kimball, tried to kill his son once by pushing a steel storm gate on him.

Lori McLeod is the mother of Kaysi McLeod, 19, one of the four people who are missing. The others are Jennifer Marcum, Terry Kimball - who is Kimball's uncle - and Leann Emry.

All have been missing since 2003 or 2004. Three were last seen alive with Kimball, according to an affidavit filed in federal court.

Outlook for missing daughter is 'grimmer and grimmer,' dad says

Leann Emry packed up her car with camping gear in January 2003, telling her dad she was off to explore caves in Mexico with her spelunking club.

He was happy for her. After getting out of an abusive marriage, the 24-year-old was living with her parents again, trying to get back on her feet. She'd met some friends through the club and she seemed happy.

Then two weeks later, a strange call came: A sheriff near Moab, Utah, had found Leann's car abandoned. All her gear and her purse were still inside, though her credit cards were missing.

'Something precious' has been taken from him, father says

Parents searched for daughter, 19, until FBI called

At first, Rob and Michelle McLeod believed his daughter, Kaysi, had run away.

The 19-year-old had taken off before. She'd used drugs. She didn't always get along with her dad or her mother, Lori McLeod.

But something wasn't quite right.

Dads' Investigation Into Their Daughters' Disappearances

Suspect in Prison, FBI Probing Four Other Disappearances

A pair of dads desperate to find their daughters who disappeared several months apart in 2003 began their own investigation after they realized the same man was the last person to see the young women alive.

Because of their detective work, the FBI has now joined the case and the suspect the fathers have identified is being investigated in connection with the disappearances of at least four people.

Investigators listen after 2 dads stand up for missing daughters

Dogged families think cases linked to the same man

Jennifer Marcum had been missing for more than two years when the FBI set up a meeting between her parents and an informant who claimed to know what happened to her.

The man, who didn't want to give his real name, called himself "Joe Snitch." They met for drinks at a Mexican restaurant. The next day they met again, this time in a Broomfield park.

Wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap pulled low, he said he knew how their 25-year-old daughter had died and who had killed her.

Moms Criticize FBI in Daughters' Disappearances

One-time Informant Suspected in Disappearances of at Least Four People

As soon as she met Scott Kimball, Mary Willis says she felt chilling suspicion: Kimball, the man who was supposed to help the FBI solve her daughter's disappearance, was the one who had killed her.

Kimball had negotiated an early release from prison in late 2002, a few months before 25-year-old Jennifer Marcum disappeared, to work as an FBI informant. He'd told officials he had information about an alleged murder plot Marcum and her boyfriend were planning.

But after meeting the charming ex-con in the summer of 2005, Willis quickly became suspicious. "He went into detail about how she died, where the body was," she said. "He was smug about it. He told me a lot of terrible things."

Rob began searching for any information he could find about Kimball and was stunned to find out that another girl, Jennifer Marcum, had also disappeared in 2003 after last being seen with Kimball. Rob tracked down Marcum's family. -- (Courtesy of the McLeod Family)
