Bummer! At least you can have chocolate. You must have celiacs? My father in law had that. You can find gluten/wheat free cookies at the health food store. He said they weren't to bad tasting.

We are trying to figure that out - Celiac is "Non-Tropical" Sprue - I may have Tropical sprue since I once lived in India - either way I am not absorbing the nutrients my body needs and have become folate & b12 deficient, not to mention the digestive problems. Avoiding gluten helps both celiac & TS - I'm hoping maybe I will be able to eat wheat products again someday.
WARNING TO ALL - At your next physical make sure you get a folate, b12 & homocyteine level done. This deficiency is way more common and leads to neurological damage (believe me) also depression, symptoms of MS & chronic fatigue. The reason doctors don't do this routinely is because the answer is vitamins & nutrition - not the pharmacueticals that they are paid to push.

It's a type of rice -
Basmati (Hindi: बासमती, IAST: bāsmatī, Urdu: باسمتى) is a variety of long grain rice, famous for its fragrance and delicate flavour. Its name means "the fragrant one" in Hindi, but it can also mean the "soft rice." India is the largest cultivator and exporter of this rice, followed by Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh - primarily grown through paddy field farming
snip
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basmati
ETA: It's more expensive than plain white rice. It's cheaper to buy the 20lb bag at costco. That's about a 6 month supply for us.

"Death by Chocolate. . . it's the only way to go!"
HELL YEAH!!!
It's either that, or Mad Cow...
I have a theory...and a LOVE for ALL TENDER, JUICY, RED BLOODY BEEF!!!
My theory-
If I eat RARE BEEF, and I happen to catch a dose of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalitis) or Mad Cow, what's the worst that can happen???
My brain turns into mush.
BUT!!! As the brain turns to mush, I stop remembering things, I no longer have control of my body, and I'm daffier than Hell!!!
I end up in a psychiatric facility, in a nice quite padded room, drooling on myself, and NOT CARING ABOUT ANYTHING. If I get visitors, I probably won't know who they are. If I babble, who cares??
And the DRUGS are pretty good at psych centers, too!!!
When the nerve-endings are shot to Hell, I won't feel pain. A PAINLESS DEATH IS A GOOD DEATH!
I can think of MUCH WORSE ways to go...LOL!!!
Just kidding...I love chocolate way too much to go out that way!!!
But I DO LOVE my beef rare...
My luck, I'll develop diabetes, and will have to kill myself 'cuz I can't have my chocolate!!!
LOL!!!

Yes, me too. Especially SUSHI! In my post I should have said - I like, and can eat the rice, vegis, meat, chocolate. Once I became so sensitive to foods that al I could eat comfortably was coca cola & chocolate bars! I could live with that! Lost weight too.

See now, I can't eat Kit Kats because of the cookie part - I would LOVE to learn how to make sushi at home. I send way too much money on it!

I learned how to make it when the nearest sushi resturant was 50 miles away but now the groceries stores carry it so I just buy it made.

My local Kroger now has a fresh sushi section and they even make the all veggie one with brown rice and it was DELICIOUS! They also have a fresh made soup bar with a loaded baked potato soup that is just awesome. NOW I'm getting hungry! LOL!
Dinner tonight is smoke sausages (like large hot dogs) baked beans and adding corn into the beans. Dh is wanting chicken cesaers salad, but I think that will be tomorrow night.

With a non-functioning air conditioner, there was no cooking tonight. We went out to dinner in a nice, overly air conditioned restaurant.

Oh, we would have gone out anyway. If it wasn't the air conditioner I would have found another excuse. I rarely ever cook anymore.
