Detroit Corruption
In the first time in like ever, a whole forensics department was fired. The Detroit crime lab was found to have ignored procedure codes, and engaged in kickbacks. They were found to have destroyed evidence, or corrupted it, for money. The firearms division was first to go. But in recent months people have begun to step forward and bear witness against over a dozen employees. The mayor, who at this time is going through a sex scandel, has made public apologizes to many of the families effected by this corruption. I am outraged that this was alowed to continue on for over 3 years before anyone came forward. The trust of the city lies in their hands ,and they dismiss it for what? MONEY. Can we ever trust another Detroit Forensic Scientist again??

Yer It Is Pretty Sad But The Police Don't Get Paid Lot's Of Money And If A Gangster Or Criminal Offer's Them A Bribe I Think They Would Take It. But That's Pretty Sad That Most Of The Department Is Corrupt. It's Not Really Suprising Me No Offence To Anyone That Live's In Detroit. It's A Relatively Poor Place There's Lot's Of Crime. If A Gangster Offered You 100 Grand To Destroy Evidence Would You Refuse Him?

I am from Detroit. I believe Detroit and all big cities are corrupt and some small cities too. Now more than ever people are trying to rip each other off. drugs, stealing gas, metal thieves etc. I love big cities too. I have only been to Chicago,Detroit,NYC,Boston,Baltimore,WashingtonDC and I love all of them. IMO

Big City life
I grow up all over the country (Former Air Force brat).... I love living close to a big city. It seems to me to that everyone is just looking out for themselves instead of thinking of what could happen to others

Big cities are corrupt? To what extent? There's nothing quite like Detroit. In Detroit, it's just like in Africa. All over you see abandon houses, dilapidated buildings, the news reports of extreme laziness on the part of employees. (My friend saw a 7-foot pile of salt dumped in an alley way in DelRay neighborhood, as the salt driver was too lazy to do his rounds). The news-show followed one road patching crew. First stop was a party store. Then parking the truck and doing nothing/drinking, followed by urinating on someone's front lawn. There are drive-by shootings right in front of police stations. Detroit is crap.

I am sorry Carmela but that goes on in all big cities. I have been to many of them or know people who live in them and this is why so many people move to the suburbs. IMO
