There is a New documentary on the search for more victims..... It quite interesting seeing how technology has come in finding old unmarked graves.

It will air again Today, depending on your cable or dish set up it will air at different times. For me my directory says 12 noon..... For my Neighbor 3:00 P.M.

Now, police Sgt. Paul Dostie and his cadaver dog Buster are investigating what might have happened to missing persons at both The Barker Ranch in Death Valley, CA., and at the Manson family's Los-Angeles area home, The Spahn Ranch in Chatsworth, CA.

This one-hour documentary will feature interviews with former family members, detectives and prosecutors, as well as archival footage, rarely seen photos and forensic investigation, as Sgt. Dostie and Buster lead us on a search for clandestine graves and buried secrets.

One of the Manson women said that Charlie had them dig the graves 81/2 feet deep. I watched a bit of the documentary on this dig for other of the Manson family victims. They were only permitted to dig 31/2 feet down even though sensors detected human decomposition in that soil.
If there are other victims, someone's going to have to go over the Sheriffs departments head, in order to bring them to the surface.

Because with cadaver dogs hitting on the spots, detectors registering human decomposition deposits and a scratching of the surface in those areas that register bodies, for the Department to pull the search, makes it appear as if they're not really that interested in a full on investigation.

I totally agree JB. I don't think any of them should ever be let out. I also think when the death penalty was reinstated they should have had to return to death row. All of them, especially Manson...

3JB, I'm sure there are bodies there but not sure if they will ever find them. It really is sad that so many kids were taken in y this scum of the earth. So many lives lost either by death or by killing therefore going to prison. All because of a liitle man who had to makehimself feel important.

Manson is definitely one scary guy. I don't understand how he gets so many people under his control, even today

I think it's because for some reason they think what he spouts off is the "truth". They are vulnerable and he plays on that. I don't for one minute believe he is crazy. It is simply an act he has perfected over the years so that he can stand out from all of the other killers. James Jones also David Koresh, did the same thing but on a much higher level than Manson. It really is sad because these people kill and harm far more than any known serial killer has ever done. oops forgot the guy who was suppose to be an alien and managed to kill off his followers can't remember his name. I really think there should be some kind of law in effect to have some kind of control on these kinds of cults. They do it in the name of religion but it really has nothing to do with it. It is just a way for some creep to control others and make money off of them. Makes me ill to even think about them. Sorry for the rant.

i heard once that the good ole government has a watchful eye on all these groups. i think its called project meggido or something. i honestly think the goverment loves to raid religious compounds, dont you?

I don't think they love to raid them, I think they get certain information and once they have established that there is some sort of mind control/sexual abuse they raid them. Unfortunately most of the members are so brainwashed by these kinds of people that they see nothing whatsoever wrong with what is taking place. After listening to these jerks I am astounded how they can possibly make someone believe they are the all knowing all seeing. But, you have to remember these members are beaten, starved and denied even the basics until they are completely brainwashed. Then the jerks have all of the power they want. It becomes a closed off section that the real world doesn't even know about.

Nobody should get a free pass to commit crimes in the name of religion.

I totally agree rph. No one should be allowed to commit crimes and be exempt because they say it's their religion. Everyone should have to obey our laws period no matter who they are.

I don't expect them to find anymore bodies at the ranch, although I beklieve there are plenty of them there. After all, it took almost twebty years and Steve Grogan's help to find Shorty. No offense to anyone involved, it's just that it's such a large, inhospitable area that there's no telling how many bodies are buried there.

One way Manson could control people was he had learned in prison how to find what you wanted more than anything and give it to you, or at least a reasonable fascimile. Nowadays, of course, it's just cool among the losers to fancy themselves as "Mansonites".

Yes, it is true that they were only allowed to dig 3 feet when it was suspected that the bodies were buried 8 feet deep. I also wish that they would have had given them more time. The Sheriff had even called the search off a day early.

A crew of 20, using technology not available 40 years ago, ended their excavation of the site Wednesday, a day earlier than planned after work went faster than scheduled.
"There have been no human remains found," Inyo County Sheriff Bill Lutze said Wednesday. "We're finishing up this site and that'll be it for the day — nothing."
Lutze said investigators were glad they didn't find evidence of any additional victims.
"If we came up with nothing, that's great because [it means] there's nobody out here buried," he said.

It does make you wonder why Sheriff William Lutze would first limit, then call off the search.

But this was the same Sheriff who did NOT want for the media to be there either. He had the media stay an hour away.

The testing will be closed to the news media, Lutze said, to protect the integrity of the process and the property rights of the owner. Testing results will be released, however, probably in late April, the statement said.

I too, do not understand why the Sheriff would not open the area for scientific research~?

This dig is not like you would suspect. The County sheriff has limited the number of days and the size of the sites to be dug.
