Organized Crime Control of Gay Bars

Is there a forum within the crime library specifically for discussing the Mafia and organized crime? I'm new here, and could not find it.

Anyhow, I've been doing a fair bit of research on the role of organized crime in the operation of gay bars in New York and other cities, and the website with many accounts from 1900 through the present is at the following link: http://www.bitterqueen.typepad.com/

I'd appreciate any comments and thoughts that people have about the Mafia. It appears from my research that the Gambino and Genovese crime families were the most involved in gay bar and club enterprises. Do you think that organized crime continues to have a role in at least some gay bars in some American cities?

I don't necessarily think its a gay thing. As in "Hey the gays will make a good shield for our operations". I do however think it is a clubs and bars thing. As in "If its a club or a bar it will serve our purposes." with that said I'm sure the mob has its sticky little fingers in gay clubs fetish club and any where that sells alcohol.

In my opinion i think they do as long as it has Alcohol and Pornography the Mafia will be involved. They don't care how lucrative or crazy something it is, as long as it make's money it's fine with them. Yes i do think the mob has a few gay bar's over America.
