Why are they ending Crime Library News?!!! I am devastated.

Where else can we get the BEST and most IN DEPTH true crime and crime-related current events journalism??

Does someone have the scoop, is it actually coming back under a new name or guise?

I urge you to write to the CL editor, and writers such as David Lohr and Chuck Hustmyre to give your support, and make CourtTV rethink this whole 'ending Crime Library News'. Ending CL news would be colossally stupid, IMO.

I'm a bit confused myself. I thought CL would cease to exist entirely after the first of the year. Then it was posted that parts of CL would remain, but the board would be closed. Now Hotwater claims that the boards will stay open.

I don't know what anyone else is doing, but David Lohr (my fav CL writer) is going to be posting his news at FW's new community -- 320sycamore.com -- and I plan on moving over there also. It seems things are a little too unstable here and no one knows what is going to happen. FW is the absolute BEST moderator here and where she goes, I go. I think she is already gone and preparing to open her new community tomorrow.

I am seconding any motion to demand CL news back. Where will I go? What
will I read? Boo Hoo! I have read CL news nearly every day since they started it in fall of 2005. I did not see this coming. I do not usually post but felt it was necessary this time to let the CL team know that I am a true fan & wish that it would continue. I did not see this coming with the new arrivals to CL news, The War Room & Movie's & Entertainment sections. Hopefully with the removal of CL news we will get something bigger & better in return. If not I don't know what I will do...Boo Hoo!

I cant believe that CL its shutting down the news section, I really can't understand it... Where o where would I get the news scoops on true crime??

I kinda was expecting something like that to happen cause I noticed the lack of care in update matters and quality stories.

It's a real shame, I hope CL is not next!!

If they're pulling the plug, why don't they just delete the board & be done with it?

What's the point in people posting at a message board where people find their posts & whole forums simply vanish without a trace? There is none.

I guess the remaining Mods simply don't have time to babysit those who have zero self-control.

I'm not surprised either... this is exactly what they used to do at CourtTV also... they'd just delete a forum without any warning either because it was easier than moderating or because they wanted that bandwidth back.

IF this was a question that the JB board was getting out of hand, they could have simply LOCKED it & not allowed any more posts & at least give people a chance to read the final posts &/or maybe even save the posts so they could catch up on what they hadn't read yet.


It's not much of a "library" if they throw out their reading material while people are still reading.

Or, they could have just banned the person who constantly caused all the trouble to begin with.

I'm not sure they have totally deleted it because my rep comments are all still there. They could have it hidden so it can't be viewed. Maybe it is just temporary until people cool down a bit.

they want visitors to focus on their programming & hot topics of the day.

And they certainly don't want to do anything that might draw attention from lawyers &/or citizens who might object to what people are saying.

Why else would people get into the habit of posting, "IMO" after every post?

Mots of the time I get it but in too many cases, it has become such an automatic thing that it drifts into the land of absurdity....

"The weather is so nice today." IMO' (That could keep disgruntled weathermen off your case, I suppose) ha

I think it's just hidden because the error message says I don't have sufficient privileges to see the threads - not that they don't exist. I think I know why they would do that.

At least the board administrators should tell the posters what exactly is going on with those removed boards. But maybe the whole CL board is going to vanish in the near future anyway - rumors of this happening have been around since last December.

I TOLD you back in early January that there was an investigation ongoing with regard to the CL Ramsey Forum due to libel that had been committed by one of your "friends". I've just been waiting for something like this to happen, and now it has! Hurray for justice! Thanks to you, that forum was beginning to turn into a FFJ hell hole.

Don't go around blaming other people for speaking the truth about you. It was about time!!! So, you don't "like" being on the other end of it? Then keep your trap shut for once in your life!!!

IMO the Mary Winkler and JonBenet Ramsey forums were shut down because the posts went off the cases and on to insulting each other. I am waiting for the same for Natalie Holloway forum. I believe Hotwater is still the moderator. And there would have been too many people to ban. Easier to remove the whole forum. IMO

This is just more of the baseless name-calling and insult-hurling that you have been doing for months. The accusations are NEVER backed up and I hope people take note of that.

Some of us were trying to have an intelligent discussion at the JBR forum - but we weren't even allowed to do that. Even Elvis (who is a board certified MD) and an absolute asset to the discussion was attacked. Elvis has never been anything other than polite and patient and I don't think E2 will find one person to back her up in her attempts to justify being rude to her.

There is no doubt in my mind that the JBR forum was closed down because of the disruptive behaviour of those who had "moved on" but who came back to use it as a toilet.

Finally, why would CL close down its board because of something someone had posted on another forum?
