Black On Black
Why Can't Our African American Sisters And Brothers Accept The Fact That We Have A Problem In Our African American Community With Violence And Not Being Willing To Work For Better Conditions In Our Lives And In Our Own Community. The Problem Seems To Be Biological As Opposed To Environmental. I Read That A 3rd Or 4th Century Phonecian Wrote About Sub-sahara Africans. "easily Excited, Quick To Anger, Prone To Violence. When I Consider That Most Of My Fellow African Americans Are Decended From That Part Of Africa, It Would Seem That This Is A Problem That Has Been In The Nature Of The Africans And Their American Decendents For Centuries. It Therefore Can Not Be Because The "white Man" Has Been Keeping Us Down. Let's Stop Blaming Others For Our Own Bad Behavoir.

hi frankie
hi there frankie. while i appreciate your feelings on this issue and acknowledge that your feelings are strong ones, i must respectfully disagree with you. i do believe that "easily Excited, Quick To Anger, Prone To Violence," describes alot of white ppl i know and i know alot of black ppl who that does not describe at all. i just think that its extremely difficult to stop a cycle once it has started. also, it really is just a portion of african-americans that you are referring to. there are alot who go to college and become successful and have never been violent. dont discount the positive; maybe the cycle is breaking, albiet very slowly. just my two-cents.

I strongly disagree with you re: that because some black people's ancentors came from certain parts of Africa that violence is inherent in black people. Not all black people are easily excitable and not all of them commit crimes or are violent. Like most people it is how you are raised and the environment one is raised in and it certainly does have an influence on learned behaviors and usually the "criminal" lacks a good role model.
Blacks certainly account for a disproportionate number of criminals as well as victims and most do come out of the inner-cities. Education, positive parenting (with two parents) and community support are key to whether a black child grows up to be successful. You can also become a mentor or tutor and help just one child. One child at a time can make a difference and it is a very rewarding experience to see a child that you have mentored/tutored develop into a mature, responsible young man or woman right before your eyes.
I will agree that although there is definitely racism in America there are some black people that exploit it for their own agenda and it is having a negative effect on the real cases for people who are actually victims of racism. You will not hear most successful black people make excuses or blame anyone but themselves for failure.
Just for the record did you know that as of 2002, 1.2 million black people own their own business? This is what the inner-city black child needs to know -- not the drug dealers on his block. This is where a positive role model for a child becomes most important and the time is NOW.
All of the above is my opinion.

Family and friends has a lot to do with how you turn out.
See what your 'Logic' can do with this...

Let me be clear....NO credible scientist has this view. The field of eugenics (heavily relied upon by Aryan supremacists like the Nazis) has been completely discredited. It is merely ignorance and a complete lack of education, intelligence, and understanding of science that would lead one to this conclusion.

Children grow up no matter what race, religion, nationality in the best of circumstances with all the advantages and turn into horrid human beings without thought or care for other human beings or species on this earth.
And then you have the child that is abused, poor, has little education who has suffered beyond belief and becomes something special without the comforts or love from anyone! Explain that!

I don't see skin color; I see hearts. No matter who you are or where you come from; there is good in the worse of us and bad in the best of us. We are human - not perfect - but we can try each and every day to be better persons than we were the day before.
