Reading "Intentionally Unsolved" missing/presumed dead men in Ga

Hi Everyone, My name is Janet. I am a first year Criminal Justice Major, and volunteer family advocate/case investigator for Georgia's missing and unidentified persons.

I am currently investigating the cases of Stephen Lankester-cox and Clyde Daniel Stewart aka (cowboy). The two men knew one another and hung around with the same circle of friends. Most of these people were drug dealers of users. Not all, but most. Meth. There are a lot of the same stories regarding the murder of Stephen Lankester. He was the first to disappear on November 18th 2004. I have been working on this case for four months now and have found that the Cherokee County Sheriffs office has showed no concern or consideration in any attempt to solve this case. I have found that they have several conflicting statements that they have given the newspapers and Stephens mother Sharron Lankester. They are saying that "they believe Stephen was on his way to rob a gambling house and was killed during the robbery or shortly after." Then they state "they aren't sure if he ever made it there? They will not say who told them this or why they believe this. I found that the place they were referring to was raided and officially shut down four months before Stephen was missing. There are many people who have bragged about the beating and several involved who helped dispose of the body. It is believed in my and my organizations and his own mother that there is a Dirty Narcotics officer and Big time drug dealer behind his murder. that is not a valid fact it is just what most of the hearsay is. His mother had given the investigators several items of his toothbrushes, hair brushes, dental records, etc to be entered in the the proper data bases. I gave her the number to call and find out if they did have his DNA in CODIS, NCIC GCIC etc. And needless to say she was very upset to find that not only is his DNA in the databases but they have no record of his DNA at all! There were skeletal remains found back in September of 2006. She thought they might have been Stephens. The police told her the remains were not his they knew who it was. This is on the same day they were found. They told her the remains were buried. I went to the area asked several individuals who lived around the area, and they all stated that they were discovered by hunters. The house where Stephen was rumored to be killed has been totally remodeled as far as replacing carpet, hard wood floors, and new paint all over the walls. they have not sprayed luminal or anything. The police have not even brought the women (who was last seen with Stephen when she picked him up on the night of his disappearance) in for questioning or any type of interrogation. her nephew had brought the t shirt that Stephen was wearing the last night he was seen. (he said he had found it in Aunt Rachel's Car, while he was cleaning it out for her) and he knew it was Steve's. She gave it to the investigators and God only knows what has happened to it. I have so much more but I have to go to class right now. Thanks

Janet Justice
