Aileen Wuornos
I've been interested in this case since a few months. Can anyone share any details of the court cases or tell me where I can find transcripts? Thanks.

If you go to Amazon or another online book store, you can put her name into their search engine and books pop up.
I studied her case for a class a few years ago and she was a fascinating subject.

I'll find my paper tomorrow and give you the sources I used. Many were newspaper articles from Lexus-Nexus and other databases, but I'll give you what you can easily access.

I'm curious as to what you found fascinating about her. I actually felt sorry for her life!

I'm so sorry about blowing you off, Sunset! I didn't mean to and I'll find that info for you asap.
WMC, I found her fascinating because Wuornos simply could not function in society due to her traumatic past. She and her brother were raised as siblings to their aunt and uncle after their mom took off. Her brother and she had sexual intercourse, she had sexual intercourse with her grandfather and I find most fascinating the fact that her aunt and uncle (same ages approx as she and her brother) claim they had a great childhood!
And, I felt badly for Wournous as well, however, she killed people in cold blood and wanted to be put to death- she got her wish.

She never had anyone that loved her. Not even that girlfriend who just used her!

The book I read on this case is called Lethal Intent- I'll find the author's name for you- Sunset. I dropped the book in my pool this summer, so, it's not exactly available.
These are links from my sources cited pages that weren't retrieved from an academic database- like Sage or Lexus Nexus.
http://www.library.northwestern.edu/...er_&_women.pdf
http://www.law.fordham.edu/publicati...flspub6151.pdf
http://www.floridasupremecourt.org/p...0-01-2001).pdf
Also, I remember using CNN transcripts numerous times for my paper, I was surprised at how many times she was mentioned on their programs. Go to Google and put "CNN Wournous Transcripts" in the search engine and they should all pop up.
The conclusion I came to in my paper was that Aileen Wuornos had no remorse, no sympathy and no feelings towards anyone except her last girlfriend. The girlfriend, Ty, used her and I am suprised that she wasn't charged with something as well.
The Aileen Wuornos study is a tragedy.

Don't feel sorry!!!
Aileen and her brother Keith were abonded by their mother Diane and father Leo Pitman. Her grandparents had legal custody of them hence the name Wuornos. People who said they grew with her claim she had sex with Keith, Aileen however denied that.
She didn't kill those men in cold blood and she only wanted to be put to death because she didn't want to serve a life sentence.

Actually, I consider her death wish a way to end her life long suffering as she was abused practically the moment that she was born.
And Leo didn't so much abandon her, he was incarcerated for violent crimes. However, he did walk away and didn't ever make amends prior to his death.

Exactly, she never even knew him. Her Mom did abandon her and Keith and left them with her parents. They adopted them legally hence the last name Wuornos. As far as I know the Grandfather beat them up with a belt whenever he felt like it.
