I agree Mysteri. I was just reading an article the other day about a couple who neglected their two small children because they were more interested in playing video games and Dungeons and Dragons online. Unbelieveable!

RENO, Nev. - A couple who authorities say were so obsessed with the Internet and video games that they left their babies starving and suffering other health problems have pleaded guilty to child neglect.

The children of Michael and Iana Straw, a boy age 22 months and a girl age 11 months, were severely malnourished and near death last month when doctors saw them after social workers took them to a hospital, authorities said. Both children are doing well and gaining weight in foster care, prosecutor Kelli Ann Viloria told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Both children were near to DEATH because of neglect....they even had food but were too occupied with their Dungeons and Dragons to feed them !!
D&D has a VERY long history of producing EVIL DEEDS....but this type is a new one on me!!

It's like these parents have no feeling nor love for their children. I hope they both get the maximum of 12 years!

They discuss if it's an illness-not in the true sense of the word to me. Not like alcoholism either. More like depravity, maybe a form of psychosis. More research needs to be done to save all those sweet children!

I also read about those two idiots in Reno. Reno is only about 350 miles from here. I have friends/co-workers who live there. The whole town in outraged.

That is beyond lazy. The worst part is there was food in the house. There was no reason for those precious babies to even be hungry, much less starved half to death.

My hubby plays video games. He has never neglected the pets, missed work, etc for playing video games (our kids are grown and moved away).


What to say about the horse in the house? I grew up in East TN, where red-necks are pretty common. Ummm, I've seen some weird stuff, but never any horses in the house. Goats & piglets, yes. But no horses.

That poor little boy, to have to sleep in a tent inside the house? If the "parents" want to live like pigs, have right at it. Just don't force your child to have to live that way.

Some people just shouldn't breed.

Doesn't sound like the horse was very well taken care of either. They don't like living in filth and being bothered by flies either.

"The conditions were horrendous," said John Bear, animal control supervisor for the Modesto police. "This miniature horse had been housed indoors for I'm guessing a good length of time by the amount of animal waste that was built up inside the house."

A boy who lived in the house told police he had been sleeping in a tent inside his bedroom to protect himself from the infestation of flies, Bear said.

I hope the boy and horse won't have a propensity to disease because of all the filth they endued. Also I hope the boy doesn't suffer mental anguish enough to ruin his life.

Oh my God, this is sooo horrible. I can't believe someone would keep a horse in the house and make the kids sleep in the tent so they dont get fleeces if I understood good. Gee, people like this should never be allowed to have kids or animals because they dont know one thing about taking care of them.

Actually, this is not true. A few idiots since the beginning of the game have blamed the game for what they did, I wouldn't call this a long history of producing evil deeds. The Bible, in fact, has a far longer and greater history in that department

I used to be an avid D&D player myself, along with a lot of other people. Not one of them has ever turned into a serial killer, a child abuser, a neglectful parent, etc.

It's just in our nature to remember the negative about something, rather than the positive, sad, but true.

As for the OP, some people have very serious problems.
