Did WWE Know about Benoit Deaths Hours Ahead of Time?
Fox News is reporting that Chris Benoit's Wikipedia page was updated with a report re his wife's death THIRTEEN (13) hours BEFORE the bodies of the Benoit family were found by police.

There's a disturbing, rather technical twist in the Chris Benoit murder-suicide saga.
FOXNews.com is reporting that the wrestler's Wikipedia page was updated with a report of his wife's death nearly 13 hours before police discovered the bodies of her, Benoit and the couple's 7-year-old son.
The posting was made by an anonymous user, whose IP address was traced to Stamford, Conn., the home of WWE headquarters. The report does not say whether the IP address came specifically from the headquarters building.
The posting showed up on Wikipedia.org at 12:01 a.m. ET Monday and was removed under an hour later. Police discovered the bodies at 2:30 p.m. ET on Monday.
It read "Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.
The posting was removed with the comment "Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something."
Wikipedia.org is a user-driven web encyclopedia, both updated and edited by Internet users. Because of the open nature of the site, vandalism is frequent and is policed by volunteer editors.

Isn't that the strangest thing.

I really don't think the KNEW, although from the text messages, they probably suspected SOMETHING was wrong. I find it difficult to believe that WWE knew of the deaths, unless someone else from WWE was present or directly involved, and just made a call to the cops to cover their *****es.
But how do you exlain the times of the text messages???
The time from the update to Wikipedia may be the problem, depending on what time-zone to was updated from????
Also, this message was at the top of the Wiwpedia post page for Benoit-
"Editing of this article by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled until July 8, 2007 (UTC) due to vandalism.
If you are prevented from editing this article, and you wish to make a change, please discuss changes on the talk page, request unprotection, log in, or create an account."
Remember-Wikipedia is a contributor-editted encyclopedia.
From their own About page-
"Wikipedia (IPA: /ˌwikiˈpiːdi.ə/ or /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/) is a multilingual, web-based, free content encyclopedia project. Wikipedia is written collaboratively by volunteers from all around the world. With rare exceptions, its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet, simply by clicking the edit this page link. The name Wikipedia is a portmanteau of the words wiki (a type of collaborative website) and encyclopedia. Since its creation in 2001, Wikipedia has grown rapidly into one of the largest reference Web sites.
In every article, links will guide you to associated articles, often with additional information. Anyone is welcome to add information, cross-references or citations, as long as they do so within Wikipedia's editing policies and to an appropriate standard. One need not fear accidentally damaging Wikipedia when adding or improving information, as other editors are always around to advise or correct obvious errors, and Wikipedia's software, known as MediaWiki, is carefully designed to allow easy reversal of editorial mistakes.
Because Wikipedia is an ongoing work to which, in principle, anybody can contribute, it differs from a paper-based reference source in important ways. In particular, older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer articles may still contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content, or vandalism. Users need to be aware of this to obtain valid information and avoid misinformation that has been recently added and not yet removed. (See Researching with Wikipedia for more details.) However, unlike a paper reference source, Wikipedia is continually updated, with the creation or updating of articles on topical events within minutes or hours, rather than months or years for printed encyclopedias.
Wikipedia is a registered trademark of the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation, which has created an entire family of free-content projects. On all of these projects, you are welcome to be bold and edit articles yourself, contributing knowledge as you see fit in a collaborative way.
If you've not done so, we invite you to take a few moments to read What Wikipedia is (and is not), so that you have an understanding of how to consult or contribute to Wikipedia. Further information on key topics appears below. If you can't find what you are looking for, try the Frequently Asked Questions or see Where to ask questions. For help with editing and other issues, see Help:Contents."
So someone could have screwed around with the times, too.

TMZ is reporting that the person who altered the Wikipedia page to reflect Benoit's wife had died has come forward:
Quote:
The REAL story behind the Chris Benoit/Wikipedia mystery has been exposed – after the "news" broke about the chilling message that someone posted on the wrestler's Wiki page about his wife being dead - supposedly hours before the bodies were found.
Just as TMZ expected, it was just another case of Wiki-vandalism!
As Wikinews.org has reported on their own site, they know the responsible Wiki Wacko and, although he wants to remain anonymous, he did submit a written statement to Wiki, claiming:
"Last weekend, I had heard about Chris Benoit no showing Vengeance because of a family emergency, and I had heard rumors about why that was. I was reading rumors and speculation about this matter online, and one of them included that his wife may have passed away, and I did the wrong thing by posting it on Wikipedia to spite [sic] there being no evidence."

I heard on Nancy Grace tonight that there were some people who believed that it was Chris, who left that message on that website. They said that perhaps, it was his way of confessing. Either way, it's pretty chilling, and creepy. IMO

I thought about it being Chris, too, since that makes the most sense, but then they said the IP address came out of Stamford, CT, which is where the WWE headquarters is located. Apparently it didn't have anything to do with WWE after all, but it looked like that for a few days.

There are so many things wrong with this whole thing that it makes no sense to me at all. It seems everyday there is something else that makes you scratch your head and wonder if there is anything left to shock you about the case.
