05/16/07 amber alert ticker is white - clear
no new active amber alerts; however, there still remains eight active amber alert cases listed. i checked the ncmec active missing children files and several of those missing children listed in current active amber alerts, come up "no records found" when search is intiated in the ncmec web page. anyone no the reason for that? have the missing children with "no record found" been found and amber alert hasn't updated their file, or what?
everyone should read the post about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann (posted in this forum) and read the full story about her in the crimelibrary missing children forum (her photo missing person info is available there as well).
an important lesson can be learned from this disappearance, when traveling to resort locations, don't let your guard down regarding child abduction prevention safety rules. don't let a paradise setting keep you from providing the same safety precautions about protecting your children, as you provide when you're home. never leave young children unattended for any amount of time, wherever you are. national missing children awareness day is May
25th. a good time to reinforce the suggested safety rules to your family. reinforcement, annually if not more often, is strongly advised.
finding our children under stress (f.o.c.u.s.) organization volunteers are on the third day of their annual central california missing person flyer posting and distribution route. 3-ring display binders containing over 100 missing child/person notices are being left for display, in every post office from ventura, ca to the south to san francisco, along hwys. 1 and 101 (the photo flyer of madeleine mccann is now included along with other missing we've come in contact with from crimelibrary forum. our f.o.c.u.s. organization van has photo flyers taped to the outside of our ex-tended van windows. the flyers of those missing mentioned above are all part of the van-window display (and we get large groups of people looking at the flyers wherever we stop and park - not to mention everyone who passes us on the hwy).
