5/10/07 amber ticker is white today
no new amber alerts are activated at this time; however, eight previous amber alerts are still active. when the ticker is white it indicates no new cases, when the ticker is yellow it indicates a new case.
finding our children under stress (f.o.c.u.s.) organization has both sides of their extended cab cargo van "mac shack" vehicle windows displayed with the active amber alert cases (flyers laminated and taped to the outside of the window - prominently displayed on both sides of the van). the back window has long-term missing person flyers displayed. f.o.c.u.s. also has added a section of the missing children display binder (displayed in over 2,000 west coast states post offices), with the active amber alert cases featured.
does anyone ever read these up-dates? do you find the information about this missing children/person charity worthwhile? are you behind their cause: to inform the federal government about the need to fix the federal laws and federal programs so they are managed the way they were originally intended, instructed, and annually federal funded to accomplish?
do you agree the missing and their relatives are the victims of a catastrophic disaster? do you agree or disagree with the statement: the mismanagement of the federal laws and federal programs involving finding and preventing missing children, are to the missing and their relatives, what the mismanagement of Walter Reed Hospital and veterans services, is to wounded veterans and their families. should i continue this amber alert up-date on a day to day basis (there will be days when i'm unable to get on the internet; but, i will keep this going as an active "column" type discussion going, if there is an interest. i will be asking you to help by looking around the lobby of the post office in your town and seeing if they have some type display of missing children posters. and, please, let me know the zip code and the month and year of the Postal Bulletin Notice (top left corner of the flyer has the month/year of the printing - over 90 percent of the children pictured on these notices are run-aways or non-custodial abductions (very few are of missing chidlren who have been missing for years and years). may 25th is national missing child awareness day. a new federal funded campaign is being launched on that day, the speak-25 campaign. speak-25 encourages parents to speak 25 minutes to their children about child abduction prevention (go to the ncmec web page for 25 tips on what to tell your children about staying safe). f.o.c.u.s. organization reminds you to constantly reinforce the message to your children. remind them of the four rules campaign, a federal funded campaign started in 1996. see previous posts on this thread for the four rules of that campaign. eveyone should remember to plan ahead and be with a friend whenever you go anywhere. predators, lurk amongst us everywhere. be smart-know the rules.
