A sexual assault or rape prior to Glen's death

I would like others thoughts on this. Right after Glen was found dead, a man came to our home to tell my parents about a young female (never knew her age) that had been sexually assaulted or raped the evening or night before Glen was found dead. He told my parents that this young female was walking home from a friend's house when the assault happened and that it had happened within the general vicinity of where Glen was found dead.

This man knew the family of the female that was assaulted and he wanted my parents to talk to the young female and her parents because he felt that somehow the assault on the young female and Glen's death were connected.

After he gave the address to my parents, my parents did go to try to talk to the young female and her parents. The parents were very distressed; the mother's eyes were still swollen and red from crying. But the young female would not come out of her room and her parents were not going to force her to talk to my parents. The parents would not give any details of the attack on their daughter either and told my parents they did not want the incident reported to the police.

My parents had to leave that house without any details, and knowing that there was a possibility that the same man that had attacked the young female had been responsible for Glen's death. All they could think was that either Glen had witnessed the sexual assault on the young female or that he was just the next victim of the man that had attacked her.

My parents knew it would have done no good to report it to the police or the detective and investigators that had been assigned to Glen's case. Because either the parents of the young female would deny everything or since everything else that had been suspicious about Glen's death had already been ignored by LE; that this too would be ignored.

My parents had to leave that house and live the rest of their lives knowing that there were people who could have given details to LE about the sexual assault on a young female the evening or night before Glen's death (which would have fallen into the timeframe of the evening he was missing before being found dead), that this attack on the young female had happened in the same general vicinity where Glen was found dead. But these people would not give the details that might have given LE vital information and possibly a description of the man that had attacked the young female and possibly was responsible for Glen's death.

How rude of those people, not wanting to be involved in finding the attacker of their daughter and murdered of another human being. That is very, very sick. If this was me I would've still went to the police and told them what I know, and I would bring the other man who actually told me this to the police so he can say it too. Police has all the right to know who they are dealing with and possibility of catching the predator before he strikes again. People of the assaulted girl are very selfish, by coming out it can save someone else's daughter, sister, mother, wife, brother but by not saying anything they are leaving the guy out somewhere to think he can get away with it and he WILL do it again. I am very appalled by this.

I agree

I have always wished my parents had told the police about the young female that had been attacked. I've always wished that I was older when Glen died, because if I was I would have told the police myself. Yes, I do feel bad about what happened to that young female; but she was still alive and she had a chance to live the rest of her life. Glen was dead.
I don't know how those parents felt their daughter might have been safer by not reporting it. The man that had assaulted her was still out there free. If I had been her parents I would have wanted the police to know so they could possibly make an arrest; that would be the only way I could feel that my child was safe.
I agree that it was selfish of those people to not report what had happened to their daughter. Or at least to allow my parents to report it without making my parents feel that if they did report it; that they would just deny it.
As I wrote already; I do feel bad about what happened to the young female. It was horrible what happened to her. But I can't understand how she could grow up, possibly go on to have children of her own, and not want to eventually come forward and tell the police she knew something that could possibly help with Glen's case.
How would that female feel if her child (if she ever had any) had been murdered? And to know that there was someone who could supply the police with vital information but just would not do it.
