Pedophiles/Talk to your kids

Parents are now stopping their children from having myspace because of online pedophiles. Honestly I think this opinion is unrealistic. If teenagers didn't have myspace they would have chat rooms. Now, once you sign into any type of messenger, chat rooms are a click away. If someone on myspace is being harassed they can easily block them, or set their profile to private. What do you think makes children targets? They don't have the common sense as an adult so their judgments are deficient. Most parents have obviously not warned their children about the results of talking to older men that they have never met. If more children were aware of the crimes going on today I think that the rates of child abuse will decrease. Some people might think kids shouldn't have to deal with these facts because of their age and they should just live as children. If no one tells their children about pedophiles then what if they are being abused, what will they think? All the abuser will have to say is, this is how you're supposed to be treated and it's completely normal. This causes the abuser to repeat.
