Officers of the Chino Police Department arrested Jeffrey Sandwell, 37, of Chino, tonight at 7:00 pm. Sandwell was arrested without incident while driving his personal car on Riverside Drive in Chino. Mr. Sandwell is a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Mr. Sandwell was booked on rape charges at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department West Valley Detention Center, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Bail has been set at $1,000,000. The alleged victim is a 17-year old female who is also a Chino resident.

The Chino Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department Internal Affairs Unit are working in conjunction with each other on this investigation. The investigation is continuing.
