MISSING 11-YEAR-OLD CHILD The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is requesting help from the public in locating an 11-year-old female, Savannah Andrews, w/f, 3/23/95. At approximately 7:00pm last evening on February 2, 2007, Savannah’s mother dropped her off at Regal Cinemas located in the 6200 block of North Andrews Avenue. She returned to pick up her daughter at 10:00pm and could not find her. Savannah is described as a white female with light brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5’3”, 115#, and has a mole on the left side of her neck. She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue-jean capri pants. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Savannah Andrews is urged to call 954-828-5700 ext. 6 or 911. ** Sergeant Frank Sousa will provide sound to the media at 9:00am today in front of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Has anyone heard if she has been found yet? I looked for updates but nothing. Ugh. Hate when there is no follow-up.

I didn't find a press release from the police on this one but did find a news report that stated she was found safe at a friend's house.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Police in Fort Lauderdale said the 11-year-old girl who had been missing since Friday night was found at a friend's house in Oakland Park on Saturday.

Savannah Andrews' mother told police she dropped the girl off at the Regal Cinemas on North Andrews Avenue about 7 p.m. When she came back to pick her up about 10 p.m., Savannah was nowhere to be found, police said.

Police said the girl did not have a history of trouble with her family or running away.

Awful young to be at anyone's house without adults checking that it's okay. Hmmm. Glad she's okay though.
