I am sorry, but there is a world of difference between Andrea Yates and Karla Homolka. Andrea Yates was mentally disturbed, and while we may not be able to wrap our heads around what she did and how she could have done it, there is no doubt whatsoever that she was demented and insane when she killed her children. Sane people who can understand the difference between right and wrong try to cover up their crimes, which Yates did not--she admitted what she did right off the bat.
Unlike Susan Smith, and unlike Karla Homolka, both of whom knew that their actions were wrong, which is why they took steps to try and cover their tracks after their crimes were committed.
