The Depravity Scale

This research by Dr. Michael Welner is very interesting. It invites people from all backgrounds to participate in the study. Below is a small snip and a link if anyone would like to check it out and participate.

"This research will refine into the Depravity Standard, an objective measure based on forensic evidence. This instrument distinguishes not who is depraved but rather, what aspects of a given crime are depraved and the degree of a specific crime's depravity. The research will enhance fairness in sentencing, given that it is race, gender and socio-economic blind. "

Hi,

I'm just a layperson with a layperson's interest in crime and criminal psychology. If I posted a "bad research" link, I apologize. There is an article on Dr. Welner and his research right here in the CrimeLibrary though. The Scale on the internet seems to be just a part of the overall study.

Best wishes,

FRESHH2O brings up an interesting point regarding internet users. What you will see in the near future is a new population created for purposed of conducting this type of data collection, you guessed it, the INTERNET POPULATION. It will be interesting to see how scientists will create this new "group".
