NEW WESTMINSTER , British Columbia — Supreme Court Justice James Williams has ruled there will be no publication ban on the trial of suspected serial killer Robert Pickton. This first trial will cover the murders of Sereena Abotsway, Mona Wilson, Andrea Joesbury, Brenda Wolfe, Marnie Frey, and Georgina Papin. Opening arguments are set to begin in January.

IPSWICH, England - Investigators in eastern England are following new leads in their hunt for the media dubbed "Suffolk Strangler." Last Sunday, investigators identified the killer's fifth victim as 24-year-old Anneli Alderton. Using this information, authorities were then able to find surveillance footage of Alderton, riding a train from Harwich to Colchester on December 3. Investigators hope these new leads will help them identify a suspect.

GUWAHATI, India — Forestry officials in northeast India have executed a suspected serial killer. According to published reports, the ruthless murderer had claimed 27 victims during the last two years. However, it may surprise you to learn that this elusive killer was not your typical serial killer, but rather a 10-feet tall male elephant, which was named "Osama bin Laden" by local villagers. The 40-to-50-year-old elephant is said to have murdered 14 people this past month alone. Despite protests by conservationists, officers from the forestry service shot Osama dead as wandered through a field on the outskirts of Behali town. "The elephant was killed after villagers identified him," a senior forestry official told Reuters. How villagers were able to identify this elephant as the killer is unknown.

GLASGOW, England — A criminoligist in Central England suspects two unsolved cases from the 1990s are related to the "Suffolk Strangler" cases. In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Professor David Wilson said: "There are striking similarities. No one emerges as a multiple killer in one weekend. There is almost certainly a history there." English authorities have comfirmed they are looking for a link in these older cases, which involve Natalie Pearman, 16, whose body was found in November 1992 and Mandy Ducan, 26, who vanished in July 1993.
