By pre-arrangement the night before, Daniel Osborne meets Darren Mack at Mack's condo. Darren's ex-wife, Charla, is to bring their daughter, Erika, for Darren's week of visitation. Darren has asked Dan Osborne to take Erika to his mother's (Joan Mack) home, after Charla arrives with the child.

Sometime between 9:00am and about 9:30am (?) - Charla Mack is stabbed to death in the garage of Darren Mack's condo.

Dan Osborne observes Darren Mack come up the stairs from the garage with his hand wrapped in a towel. Dan's dog follows Darren up the stairs. The dog is coverd with blood. Frightened, Dan Osborne takes Erika and leaves. He observes that Charla's vehicle is still there.

Dan Osborne was enroute to Joan Mack's home with Erika, when he received a call from Darren requesting to meet at a nearby Starbucks. Dan Osborne meets Darren at the Starbucks, and afterwards, proceeds to Joan Mack's home. He calls the police from Joan Mack's home.

11:05am - a 911 call is received that Judge Weller has been shot.

11:11am - a 911 call from Dan Osborne to report his concerns that someone may have been injured or killed at Darren Mack's condo.

11:18am - Reno police go to Darren Mack's condo but are re-routed to another call.

11:19am - Darren Mack placed a cell phone call to his "cousin", Jeff Donner in Moraga, CA. telling him that if anything should happen to him to let the world know about Judge Weller.

11:33am - Reno police respond to Darren Mack's condo.

11:40am - Reno police leave Darren Mack's condo as there is no answer and they don't have the authority to enter.

1:33pm - Reno detectives meet with Dan Osborne in regards to his concerns about someone possibly being injured or killed at Darren Mack's condo.

2:12pm - Detectives go to Darren Mack's condo and use the entry code, given to them by Dan Osborne, to open the garage door. where they find the body of Charla Mack.

2:33pm - The corporate credit card used by Darren Mack and his employees is used in the parking garage at the Sacramento, CA. airport. The amount charged was $2.00.

An update to the timeline from an article from KOLO TV in Reno reporting on the testimony at the preliminary hearing.

"Osborne also testified that he was at the condo when Charla Mack arrived with the couple's daughter the day of the killing and watched television with the girl upstairs while Mack said he was going to talk to Charla.

[b]Fifteen to 20 minutes later, Osborne said he heard his own dog barking and that the dog came through the garage door into the condo ahead of Mack.[b]

The dog had blood on it and Mack had "a weird look," Osborne said.

Pressed by prosecutors to explain, Osborne said the look was "scared. I don't know how to describe it." He said his dog had blood on its "face, throat and feet."

"Just from that, I freaked out. I didn't know what happened. I took Erica and the dog outside," Osborne said. He took the girl to Mack's mother and telephoned police."

Note that Dan Osborne states that it was 15 - 20 minutes after Darren went to talk to Charla, that Darren returned from the garage. Also note that he states that the dog came up the stairs ahead of Darren.
