Sick ande tired of pedophiles! What can be done?

Is it just me or does it seem as if these evil freaks are coming out of the woodwork?

This case it just the tip of the iceburg. There are so many children & families out there who are innocent victims who never get this much news coverage. These pedophiles are not sick, they are evil. It takes an evil person to even think about harming a child.

The internet is now the super highway for these animals!!!

Even if Karr is not guilty of murdering JonBenet, he was/is a very dangerous criminal.

Karr served six months for his child pornography charges in Ca., with a maximum of 1 year. This is why these freaks are not afraid to commit these crimes, it is a travesty. As far as I'm concerned, if somebody has the intent or interest in harming children, they are no longer human, they are monsters, and should be stripped of any rights. Lock them all up and let them all starve together. Then they can be with their own kind.

It seems every day there is a new freakshow on the tv, and one has to wonder if they stopped protecting these dirtbags in prison, would it deter some of them knowing they will get the wrath of vengance that killers can provide? It would be a service appreciated by some.

Child molestation is one of the worst crimes I ccan think of. Why are we allowing these people out of prison and sending them to live in our neighborhoods? I have one living about 6 blocks away from me and although my children are grown,it gives me an uneasy feeling living so close to someone who would do such a terrible think, especially to a child who has no way to fight back and the act will affect them the rest of their lives. I totally agree the are coming out of the woodwork and I believe they do these things knowing the punishment is not severe enough. They have to actually kill a child to get our attention. Something has to give or we are in for a lot of trouble.

It's Always Been There

Unfortunately, child molestation has always been there. It was never spoken of as freely as it has been since the 1980s, however. No matter what era, no matter what place, there have always been sickos preying on children.

I am constantly sickened by these stories as they come out in the news, it seems, on a daily basis. However, I am glad that they do, because the public is hit with a brutal awareness. To be aware is to be empowered, and to be empowered is to make a difference, even if that difference is on the most personal level.

As for Karr... I just don't get it. This guy should be put away, and not just for child pornography charges. What about obstructing justice? They made the runaway bride pay for faking her kidnapping/disappearance, why aren't they making Karr, at the very LEAST, pay for that flight and all the expenses involving his detainment after a false confession?

The fact that he's an attention seeking dirtbag is made even worse when he is a sick, attention seeking dirtbag, and were I in law enforcement and couldn't put him away for child porn, I am sure that there are a few other laws he's broken in that false confession that might take him off the streets for a little while anyway. Unfortunately, he will have to molest someone or get caught with child pornography again to get what he deserves.

So are you advocating that he gets put away because he appears to be a threat to society and CP is the only charge they can get him on, or simply think he should be locked up for viewing images?

He should be locked up for viewing it. Unfortunately, that computer was lost, or the charges would have been dropped. The appearance of a threat is not a crime, but supporting an industry of child abuse is a different story.

You assume he was visiting pay sites where the money does go to the people that make these pictures. What about the 1000's of images just floating around on the Internet that people can get for free? Is it justice to lock people up for looking at images?

It is a crime to visit such sites. People get busted for that. And yes, it is assumption he was on these pay sites, but what was said in the news is that the evidence that they had was sufficient, but unfortunately destroyed.

It is a crime to visit such sites, but you can be "busted" for just viewing images, and never going to such sites. I bet most people don't realize that.

I agree, the list is not working, we need to get rid of it and go back to real punishment..... in prison where they belong - jmho

should not be 3 victims and your out... er I mean 3 strikes and your out, it should be 1 victim discovered and your out - jmho

sadly I think with the drug war going on, there just isn't enough space... our courts have their priorities it seems - jmho
