How The Media Portray Missing People

IT'S A SHAME THAT MANY PEOPLE WHO GO MISSING WOULD PROBABLY BE FOUND IF THE MEDIA WOULD AIR THEIR CASES LIKE THEY DID NATALEE HOLLOWAY AND LACI PETERSON BUT THEY DON'T THINK MINORITIES ARE IMPORTANT ENOUGH. ACCORDING TO THE MEDIA ONLY WHITE WOMEN IN THE SUBURBS AND WHITE CHILDREN GO MISSING. YOU VERY RARELY SEE MINORITY WOMEN OR MINORITY CHILDREN REPORTED MISSING YET WE KNOW IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY. I'M QUITE TIRED OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY...SHE HASN'T BEEN FOUND AND NEVER WILL BE...MOVE ON.

myopinion...what a terrible thing to say. What if it was your daughter? Would you ever "move on"? How inconsiderate and disrespectful. It's obvious that nothing like this has ever happened to someone that you love. Otherwise, you would know that a mother cannot just "move on " without answers.

YES....SHE IS SUFFERING ON A DAILY BASIS. THE LOSS OF A CHILD HAS TO BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ENDURE. HOWEVER, SHE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS IN ARUBA MAKING ENEMIES FROM DAY ONE. SHE CREATED AN ATMOSPHERE WHEREBY THE AUTHORITIES NOR THE CITIZENS REALLY WANTED TO WORK WITH HER. I THINK HER DAUGHTER MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND HAD SHE NOT CONDUCTED HERSELF AS THOUGH SHE DESERVED PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT. SO I SAY ONCE AGAIN "MOVE ON". THERE ARE OTHER CASES TO SOLVE. ESPECIALLY MINORITY CASES THAT ARE VIRTUALLY NOT EVEN HEARD OF.

pinkelephants is an unknown quantity at this point
I feel very sad that the media cannot offer extended coverage to every person who goes missing, regardless of their age, sex, color or handicap.

Each missing person deserves to be found. Rather than fighting, why don't we each make a commitment in our own lives to look out for these lost souls and go the extra mile to pu t out flyers, webpages and anything else in our power to get their faces seen. It only takes one person to make a difference.

I AGREE COMPLETELY AND YES IT DOES ONLY TAKE ONE PERSON TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. FOR THE MOST PART MY FRUSTRATION ABOUT MATTERS SUCH AS THESE IS REDIRECTED APPROPRIATELY AND WHERE IT WILL BE MOST EFFECTIVE. HOWEVER, EARLY ON IT WAS EASY TO BECOME UPSET AND FRUSTRATED BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER IMMEDIATE CHANGE THEREFORE I WASN'T CERTAIN IF I WAS MAKING A DIFFERENCE. I EVENTUALLY REALIZED IF WE JUST CONTINUE WORKING TOWARDS EQUALITY AND MAKING RIGHT ALL THE OTHER WRONGS OF THIS WORLD THAT PROGRESS WAS BEING MADE. I NO LONGER NEED TO SEE AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT. IT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS THAT WAY. BUT INDEED ALL GOOD THINGS DO EVENTUALLY COME TO THOSE WHO PATIENTLY WAIT.

missing son

every thing you said is true because people of color don't get no air time I should know my son has been missing for 2 years and we have to almost beg the media to air his story,I have e-mailed the newspaper in the town where my son went missing do you think they have gotten back to me they called to see if I was the one that sent the e-mail and that is all I have heard from them.Yeah I feel bad about Natelie Holloway, but what about my son he was important to and yes I to got tired of hearing about her, until my son went missing I never knew how many people of color were missing because you never hear about them,it's like we as apeople don't count, why do you think the people in New Orleans were treated the way they were treated, because they were people of color and the government didn't care,President Bush should be ashamed of himself. This is my son's website http://www.findchristopher.homestead...ristopher.html

I am so sorry for the pain that you are going thru. I cannot imagine going two years without answers. Out family went two months before finding Renee; though we still do have have answers.

(For the record, our family had to beg, and still have to beg, even with the sheriff who doesn't seem to care.)

My heart goes out to you, truly.
