Hi chammy!

Since he is not fighting extradition does that mean he ca be eligible for the DP should the DA seek it?

chammy, I left an O/T on the last page of the NH thread, check it out if you can, Im trying to find some info I missed last night on Greta, thanks <waving>

Hi Anni...On the DP question, I'm guessing that maybe his DA friend made a deal about that..Have to wait and see.

Yes, I saw your post, I can't assist you with that, its the first I heard of it..Let me know if you find any thing further. That was in the US though, right?

Oh good point, BUT I thought his DA friend said he hadnt talked to him (on one of the shows yesterday). Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Per Fri FOX News website article....

Mack was trying to strike a deal so he could avoid the death penalty, but no such deal was reached.

Just a guess but I think if the Mexican authorities would have had to get involved in his capture, then an extradition with no DP would have occurred.

But since he turned himself in, sounds like the DP is still on the table.

I'm actually surprised that he did turn himself in...maybe his mother was in contact with him and influenced him to do it.

I wonder if he was with a girl traveling to all these hot spots in Mexico (just thinking aloud) and she might have helped him to do the right thing. He sounds like he wanted to play a little, I say this because of the popular places he was said to be sighted in) have some fun in the sun first, a little R and R

Anni, I agree. I, too, usually go on a 10-day cruise before slaughtering my spouse. And, it is toomuchfun.

So he voluntarily surrendered to the FBI last night in Mexico.

Per Reno Gazette-Journal, a press conference is scheduled this morning for 10:15am.

I listened to yesterday's press conference by the Reno authorities, and it was stated at that time that there had been no discussion of the death penalty.

I would think that if Darren Mack surrendered to U.S. authorities the death penalty is not an issue.

DP is still an option. If he'd been arrested by Mexican LE he could fight extradition.

Most (but not all) of the actual executions there have been volunteers.

I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but yes, here he would probably receive it and most likely be executed in 7-8 years. They've even shortened it in recent years due to expedited appeals.

Was apprehended at 10:30pm last night. He remain with authorities until. He's already arrived at Dallas and is now in Dallas County jail. No scheduled transfer to Reno at this time.

It had been established that DM was still in PV yesterday after he failed to surrender. Mexican LE assisted. The silver Ford Explorer still missing.

Local Reno LE will fly to Dallas via State of Nevada jet to arrange the transfer of Mack from Dallas to Reno. No scheduled commercial flight transfer to Reno at this time. Once Mack is returned to Reno he will be arrested and charged with the attempted murder of Judge Weller.

LE still has not located the 2006 Ford Explorer. It is listed on the National database and Interpol as a stolen vehicle.

The said there was no flight out of PV last night and they had to wait until this morning to fly to Dallas.

IMHO......authorities wanted to get DM back on US soil quickly, and this was the best option at this point - get him to Dallas.

There was no indication as to when DM would be transferred to Reno.

Obviously DM didn't have the Ford Explorer with him, so he must have flown out of an airport in the US to Mexico.

The Ford Explorer could be anywhere between Reno and the U.S. border. It's likely that vehicle is in the parking area of an airport somewhere.

Just a thought............if he did swipe his corporate credit card at the Sacramento airport........that could have been a ruse to lead authorities to believe he left from Sacramento. Stockton is less than an hour to the south and does have an airport. He could have flown out of Stockton to LAX or San Diego and then to points south of the border.

LE needs to check every airport.
