Why does Crime Library focus on certain cases

I don't understand why this missing persons case warrants its own forum. I haven't seen anything about this and I suspect her case would receive more coverage on a different thread.

Deidres dad was on Fox News about 1 week ago. they have not been able to keep it that way because there is nothing new. there are no leads to where she may have went. only that people don't generally pay for a full months rent and then take off that same day when they have money coming in a couple days later. Therefore, it is a good possibility that deidre could have been taken against her will. as she would not leave her 4 1/2 month old daughter behind as well as her family and friends who she loved very much. I don't think that it is fair to say she should not get her own thread because this is not on national news all the time. whatever gets her name out there, whatever it is that could cause the right person to see her face and remember they saw her that night or since then, she deserves it!

I was going to comment on this the other day but i wasn't sure if the poster was saying she didn't "deserve" her own thread or if she would simply get more attention elsewhere.

My opinion on it is that ALL missing people need their OWN thread..........Unfortunatly there are not enough people willing to help with these cases to make each and every one special. I don't know what makes certain ones stand out more but in my opinion I think it is the ones who have evidence leaning towards an abduction.

This is a sad time, Diedre and her family and friends are in my prayers.
Hoping and praying Diedre is safe and will return home soon to her precious baby girl.

No. My point has been missed completely. In fact, I'm pretty sure that someone even reworded my original post AND headline. My point is that there IS a Missing Persons forum already. People who are interested in finding missing people go to that forum. They don't scroll around all the forums on Court TV on the offchance that there just might be something posted about a missing person. Clearly not much is happening on this thread or there would be a lot more "hits".

If I was interested in finding out about a missing person I would be posting over on the Missing Persons site.

Thats what i thought you meant in your original post! I agree with that the thought this case may get more attention elsewhere.

Are you kidding? Way more posts over there than here. I'm not trying to start trouble - it just seems like there are many more people interested in some sort of resolution regarding the missing on that site than on this one. AND, I'm SURE my headline was changed - which really strikes me as dishonest. Some of these court tv sites and posts are really screwy. There was a site called "recipes" (I know, who cares) that was dumped and there were loads of people posting and reading there. Now they put this site up for Deirdre which has only a fraction of the interest because it should be included on the MISSING site.

I guess I am saying this particular site is redundant! Also, there are missing people over on the other forum that have way more "hits". Why is it they don't have their own site? Feels like some weird favoritism.... Like maybe Hotwater (?) has some special interest in Deirdre? I think Deirdre should join us over there.
