Lisa Dorrian Disappeared 2/28/05, Ireland, Red Hand Commando Investigating
I assume this is just an odd coincidence...so we can just let this thread die unless folks think its odd-coincidenceness might have some meaning relative to this case.
Lisa Dorrian, 25, disappeared 2/28/05 "after being at a party in a caravan at Ballyhalbert on the Ards Peninsula...The police are looking at the possible involvement of members of the Loyalist Volunteer Force. The UVF and the Red Hand Commando have been 'investigating' the disappearance."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4594961.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4562687.stm
The Dorrian name, the reference to "The Red Hand" and apparent implication of Irish paramilitary factions, Lisa's age (Imette would have been 25 on 3/2) and the Feb, 2005 date, 1 yr before Imette's murder, are all odd parallels.
Sometimes coincidences are just coincidences.

Lisa Dorrian disappearance
Is Lisa Dorrian related to the Dorrians we have been discussing here? It is interesting... more questions to add to the mystery.

THE devastated father of murdered Bangor woman Lisa Dorrian last night vowed to increase the £10,000 reward offered for help in recovering her body - by remortgaging his home.
Sunday Life has learned this is just one of the options John Dorrian is considering, as his family struggle to come to terms with their terrible loss.

John Dorrian
Michael Dorrian does have a brother name John. They were both childhood friends of Robert Chambers.
Interesting

There could be many men named 'John Dorrian'...the age would be about right if the Dorrians are in their 40's-50's and Lisa was 25.

Dorrian might be a common surname in Northern Ireland.
Other than Lisa perhaps being a relative of the NY bar owner Dorrian family, I don't see how Lisa Dorrian's murder could be tied to Imette's murder.
IMO

Thanks day2day for the family tree and ages...John (age 42) it seems wouldn't be Lisa's (age 25 in Feb. '05) father.

And wasn't grandpa named Red? I believe Grandpa came to the US having a bounty on his head as an IRA gunman. It also had stated he was a bootlegger. How many Dorrian coincidences can there be?

i live in northern ireland where lisa went missing - the lisa dorrian case has absolutely nothing whatsoever and no connections to the imette case. the only similarity is the surname in the cases and thats it
