Info from Mathews County Circuit Court

The hearing next Wednesday, the 25th, will be held at 9:30 a.m.

They do not consider it an "arraignment" in the strictest sense of the word. It is a hearing to determine if BF has, or is in need of counsel and if so, to appoint same; and will serve as a "scheduling conference" to set the date(s) of trial and motions.

They can ask for a change of venue, but if you're basing that solely on the fact that this area/courthouse, etc. is small - I doubt it. They'd have to have a legitimate legal reason to do so - like he'd be prejudiced by a trial down there.

Frankly, I think he's got about the same chance anywhere he's tried.

It'll be like a sold-out Broadway show--SRO! Very close quarters, I imagine. I wonder if BF is a "sweater"?

I agree with Rowan--the outcome will be the same no matter where the case is tried.

We could all bring lawn chairs and sit outside the courthouse...

If BF ever felt enclosed in his cell, wait until he is in a courtroom with all of Taylor's family...

In the best interest of jurisprudence I would caution people wanting to do that.

I know many people want to support Taylor's family. That's an admirable thing to do.

But if one person says or does the wrong thing in front of a juror, it could start the process all over again.

There have been mistrials over less.

Just something to think about.

Tongue-in-cheek remark to the 8 benches...

That is a long trip to sit in a lawn chair and not be able to see or hear anything...though my support would be in person...

I think she was just kidding about the lawn chairs BFD I think we all have more sense than to do anything disrespectful or that might in any way jeopardize this case
