Lie Detecter Tests

I know of a woman who was convicted in AL for being a child murderer. She was given the death sentence which got commuted to life by the governer. This all happened back in 1983. What I was curious of is.....after the trial she said "my husband made me do it" Why couldn't they have put her on a polygraph test? Grant it, they aren't 100% accurate, but in her case, all the VICTIMS were given one....so why not them? Her husband is currently incarcerated in GA for yet another murder, and is scheduled for a parole hearing this year. She on the other hand isn't allowed to get a hearing until 2012. If her husband did in fact force her to do all those things she was convicted of, wouldn't it be unfair to put her through all that?

True they could have at least given her the option for one. A lot of the time people don't do that anymore for the chance of passing while being guilty.

I don't see any reason why her attorney could not of arranged for one and offered it to DA. I think (and I am sure I will be corrected if wrong) it could have been done and the knowledge of that offered to the jury for consideration.
