Spangley and Goatgirl: GR8 Links. Keep up the good work. The more Links the better I say. As far as I know, we don't get much of anything here in the U.S. on KH/PB. I didn't know that KH was even being released until I read it here on the Boards.

Prison staked out as Homolka set to be released
Speculation that Karla Homolka may have left Quebec's Joliette prison Thursday morning was fuelled by the sight of a security truck with blacked-out windows leaving the premises.
But a Correctional Service Canada spokesperson confirmed Homolka was still in prison as of 10 a.m. ET.

Here's an editorial that appears in the St. Catharines Standard, Karla's hometown newspaper which also happens to be Kristen French's.

Shattering the victim myth even more

Tim Breen said it publicly before anyone else in the Summer of Karla.

But he only got it half-right.

The member of Paul Bernardo’s initial legal team was arguing against imposing a publication ban on Karla Homolka’s manslaughter trial.

Homolka is being wrongly portrayed as a victim, Breen told Justice Frances Kovacs, and granting a publication ban would only perpetuate that myth.

Breen was bang on about the phoney victim portrayal. However, his concern that the public would buy into the myth proved to be ill-founded.

Homolka drops media muzzle suit

Media lawyer Mark Bantey said he received notice of Ms. Homolka's intentions from her lawyers on Wednesday. The decision removes the need for Ms. Homolka to submit to cross-examination from media lawyers.

I would bet she has been competely made over. Red hair, different make up, sunglassses, froppy clothes, ect and has been out many times already.

I think the lawyer just manipulating the masses. She will never be able to go out as herself without trouble, but she can blend by totally changing her appearance without calling attention to herself. And I'd be suprised if she will be using her Teale name, or Karla for that matter.

Unless you have a litter of puppies at home, the Toronto Sun's bottom feeder coverage of this case won't generally be much use to anybody interested in actual journalism.

That may be true, but I was looking for the parent's comments and this is what I came up with. Perhaps he has said the same things to other publications which are less sensational. I will do another google search.

In reference to Homolka's crimes, Tanguay said: "I think Ms. Homolka must always have restrictions to stay away from children because according to what she said, her fantasies involve pedophilia. I can't say anything more than that. It's adolescents. She likes that and that won't change."
