WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.
The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.
"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.
"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

notice
next year the gop will make a big flip flop on not increasing the debt. all the current talk about not increasing the debt was just to get votes. all of them will vote to increase the debt so i wonder what their voters will think about that flip flop. hahaha

“As a result of Tuesday’s election, the role of Democrats in the 112th Congress will change, but our commitment to serving the American people will not,” she wrote. “We have no intention of allowing our great achievements to be rolled back.”

But the party’s loss of 60 seats in the election — many of them held by moderates — has left the remaining Democratic caucus more liberal than before, giving her a good chance of retaining her position if she chooses.
In addition, Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, the No. 2 Democrat and the favorite of moderates, has said he will not oppose Ms. Pelosi, removing her most formidable potential opponent.

nancy they love.
Asked a second way -- how the vote would go if the election were held today -- the poll showed 61 percent probably or definitely would vote for Pelosi, with nearly 19 percent for Dennis and nearly 21 percent undecided.
In the 2008 race, she captured 72 percent of the vote despite having another liberal personality, Cindy Sheehan, also on the ballot. In 2006, she won with more than 80 percent of the vote. Two years earlier, she captured nearly 83 percent, and in 2002, she won with 79 percent.

the other fun will start when the tea party in january start to ram their extreme views down on the regular gop. Bush,c rowe and other heavy weight republicans have already denonced most tea party people including s palin. they are still pissed at what oconnell did to their long term senate candidate in deleware.
so that mix may give us some interesing battles between the gop and the tea party in congress.

The government shutdown deathwatch begins
In December, the GOP has a chance to turn Tea Party dreams into reality. But are they crazy enough to take it?
At Capital Gains & Games, inveterate budget watcher Stan Collender makes a not quite convincing argument that Republicans would be misreading "the political tea leaves" if they don't move immediately to shut down the federal government.
-
11-05-2010 05:46 PM #106
Collender believes that if Senate Republicans fail to oppose an extension, they will enrage their Tea Party base, set themselves up for the possibility of leadership challenges when the new Congress begins, and create logistical difficulties that will hinder their chances next year of getting the kinds of spending cuts they want.

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann Suspended, Angering Liberals
As if Speaker Nancy Pelosi's bombshell wasn't enough to shake the liberal firmament on Friday, the suspension by MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann for making political contributions to Democratic candidates in House races added to the shockwaves.
It's not as though anyone had any doubts about Olbermann's leanings. Most night's on Countdown he seems like a one-man, anti-Republican wrecking crew.

Keith Olbermann SUSPENDED From MSNBC Indefinitely Without Pay
MSNBC has suspended star anchor Keith Olbermann following the news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates this election cycle.
"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay," MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in a statement.

hello? are these the same people who have made a career of slamming conservative commentators? LOLOLOL
In recent months, Griffin has taken several bold steps to declare his authority over the network and its sometimes unruly talent: he sent a stern memo warning hosts to not publicly fight with each other, he suspended David Shuster indefinitely for filming a CNN pilot, suspended Donny Deutsch, banned Markos Moulitsas from the network, and reprimanded Ed Schultz for threatening to "torch" the network.

AARP Raises Costs for Employees' Insurance Plans
WASHINGTON -- AARP's endorsement helped secure passage of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Now the seniors' lobby is telling its employees their insurance costs will rise partly as a result of the law.
In an e-mail to employees, AARP says health care premiums will increase by 8 percent to 13 percent next year because of rapidly rising medical costs
