I could be wrong but I think that J Cochran and the other defense lawyers said very little about the time line descrepancies in the trial. After the trial he discovered that many of his supporters believed that the time line proved that SImpson was innocent so he started talking about it more.

I think that the sportscaster Howard Cosell was the first prominet person to label Orenthal Simpson an a-hole. Cosell wrote a book about sports casting years before the murders. I think it was called "I never played the game". He slammed about all the ex athletes who shared the booth with him, but the one he slammed the most was Simpson.

I think that the best book about the Simpson trial is Vincent Bugliosi's book Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O.J. Simpson Got Away With Murder. In 1996, there was a debate between Bugliosi and Simpson attorney Alan Dershowitz on the Larry King Show.
Here are the four parts:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRalJ...feature=relmfu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCUMH...feature=relmfu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2_vB...feature=relmfu
Who do you think won the debate: Bugliosi or Dershowitz? I'm not asking whether O.J. is innocent or guilty; I'm simply asking which attorney argued more convincingly. For example, it's possible that a person might think that O.J. is innocent, but still think that Bugliosi scored more points during the debate.
Bugliosi flips out during the final part of the debate. First, he says: "There is no time to talk on this show. It's a silly little exercise and all we are being is entertainers to the people who are watching." Later, he said: "For what you people did in this case, fraudulently injecting race into this case and accusing innocent police officers of framing Simpson, the whole lot of you - the whole lot of you should've been hogtied and whipped in the town square at noon time."
Do you think that Bugliosi was justified in saying that Simpson's entire defense team should've been hogtied and whipped in the town square, or did he go too far? Also, do you think that it was inappropriate for him to complain that the whole thing was "a silly little exercise?"

I think Bugliosi went too far, although I respect his judgement. The subject of eithical legal behavior for lawyers is a subject I don't know how to discuss, but the defense tactics were pretty bad.
ing so
I thought both the prosecution and the press should have done a better job of challenging and refuting some of the defense tactics. The gloves don't fit part and some other aspects of the defense was ridiculous.

Bugliosi did seem to genuinely bothered by the fact that the Simpson defense team had accused the LAPD of framing Simpson, although I wonder if part of the reason why Bugliosi made that comment is because he was frustrated that Dershowitz was challenging some of his (Bugliosi's) assertions.
I think that the prosecution definitely wasn't forceful enough. As Bugliosi explains in his book, the prosecution displayed almost "unprecedented incompetence." There was a lot of highly incriminating evidence that the prosecution failed to introduce, most notably Simpson's statement to the police- where he admits to cutting himself and dripping blood all over his car, driveway, and house around the time of the murders. When asked how he cut himself, he replied, "I don't know." When asked a second time, he still had no explanation. Bugliosi said that he could've convicted Simpson on that ridiculous statement alone. What is the statistical probability that Simpson just happens to innocently cuts himself around the exact same time that his ex-wife and her male companion are being brutally murdered? One in a million?

Just as an FYI to my fellow posters: We all received invites to follow the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case at JuticeQuest. I accepted the invite and joined the group. I had no idea that the site isn't for discussion and/or debate but instead is foul mouth, vile, hating posts -- don't go. The mods lead the pack.

Ex-prosecutor claims O.J. Simpson attorney tampered with glove
(Reuters) - Nearly 17 years after O.J. Simpson walked away from his Los Angeles murder trial a free man, a prosecutor at the center of the case has alleged that the lead defense lawyer tampered with a crucial piece of evidence.
Former Los Angeles deputy district attorney Christopher Darden on Thursday accused Simpson's defense lawyer, the late Johnnie Cochran, of "manipulating" one of the infamous gloves that the prosecution said linked Simpson to the grisly double murder of his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman...
On Thursday, during a panel discussion about the trial at Pace Law School in New York City, Darden, a member of the prosecution team, declared: "I think Johnnie tore the lining. There were some additional tears in the lining so that O.J.'s fingers couldn't go all the way up into the glove."...

O.J. Simpson 'bloody glove' not manipulated, Cochran friends say
...Several jurors cited the too-tight gloves as a key reason for voting to acquit Simpson. But this week, Christopher Darden, one of the prosecutors on the case, told Reuters news service and a law school audience that he believed Cochran manipulated the glove.
"As members of the defense team, Carl Douglas and I were present in court on the day that Chris Darden asked O.J. Simpson to try on the glove,” attorney Shawn Holley said in a statement to The Times. “Mr. Darden's self-serving assertion that Johnnie Cochran tampered with the glove -- or any piece of evidence -- is false, malicious and slanderous.
“Almost 20 years later, it seems Mr. Darden is still trying to exculpate himself from one of the biggest blunders in the history of jurisprudence."
Alan Dershowitz, who also worked with Cochran, has said in a statement that the claims are "a total fabrication."...

What a shame...and we all thought so highly of Arnelle. Sigh.

"O.J. Simpson learned that his eldest child allegedly squandered his fortune on lavish shopping sprees, lavish parties and alcohol. He then made the decision to yank her from his will, potentially leaving her without a thin-dime of his fortune when he passes away."
