From my reading lately, the police say they have no reason to apologize to Tori's parents....well in my opinion they mistaken somewhat. Not only do the parents deserve an apology, but so do the public who pay their salaries. The public voiced they wanted MORE done before the two week mark even passed. The public wanted them to issue Amber Alerts. The public wanted her face and story EVERYWHERE to be labeled abduction NOT some silly "missing person as she walked away on her own free will"
I cannot believe they still have no bodyPoor little girl, I really feel for her parents. I am hoping everyone is checking their properties. I know our brother in law in Fergus has a lot of property there and has checked it as best he can (it's covered in fields, but also forests lining the fields like many places in Fergus)

I wonder if they are just going by what McClintic has told them and that's why they think she is in the Fergus area? With Guelph being surrounded by farming communities and little piddly towns like ours, there is such a large area to cover. They should ask the farmers up in our area to check their land too since we aren't really that far from there.

The news has been telling everyone in the area to look for a discarded grey back car seat...they found one in Kitchener.....

I'd been following this story on the Caylee boards, and didn't realize it had been moved here.
My heart and prayers go out to Tori's family and friends and the people of Canada.
This never should have happened to this beautiful little girl!
I hope the animals who stole Tori away from her family rot in Hell.
The people of WNY and the US grieve for you, Sweetheart!
RIP-Tori

Any theories on why this female has apparently been no help to them?
I understand the idea that the landscape has changed enough in this time that she cannot remember where they might have dumped the body, possibly even at night. I can't even recognize some areas from one season to another. But they are doing searches at a landfill. Someone doesn't forget that they were at a landfill. So why did they only start searching there recently? Did she say something else that she didn't say the first days when they were only searching farms/land?
It's very strange because at first it seemed like she was riding with them and would be able to take them at least near the body. But now they are all over the place and I think that means she was of no real help at all. I hope she isn't getting a plea deal for all her non-help.

It might not be that they put her in the landfill, but that either she or evidence was put in a dumpster (or dumpsters) which were taken to the landfill.
One article I read, it seemed they might be looking for the back car seat (they aren't saying, but the reporter seemed to think it a possibility.) But, seems there is a car plant around there? Someone from whatever that company is says, they throw out dozens of car seats into the landfill, so to find that particular one is pretty slim. Of course, that is, if that is what they are looking for.
Too bad they didn't think of landfills much earlier. The article also reported that the stuff had been compacted. And then sitting around. My invisible friend says you have issues.

On May 20, 2009, police charged Michael Thomas Rafferty, 28, with first degree murder and Terri-Lyne McClintic, 18, with being an accessory to murder (in addition to lesser charges) in the abduction and suspected murder of Tori. Ontario Provincial Police indicated that Tori's mother, Tara McDonald, was familiar with McClintic. McClintic assisted the police search for the remains of Tori Stafford after her arrest
On May 28, 2009, McClintic's accessory charge was altered to a murder charge. Abduction charges against McClintic and Rafferty were altered to unlawful confinement charges. The co-accused will be tried separately on charges of 1st-degree murder and unlawful confinement

Tori Stafford autopsy showed no signs of sex assault
WARNING: This story contains disturbing details
The body of Ontario schoolgirl Victoria (Tori) Stafford was too decomposed to collect evidence of sexual interference, the murder trial of Michael Rafferty was told today.
Rafferty, 31, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, sexual assault causing bodily harm and abduction in the death of the girl, who disappeared near her elementary school in Woodstock on April 8, 2009. Her body was discovered more than three months later.
No evidence of sexual interference was found or was expected to be found, according to an agreed statement of facts read out by the Crown on Tuesday during the testimony of Dr. Michael Pollanen in London.

Tori Stafford murder trial: OPP officer describes finding body
LONDON, ONT.— It was a bungalow, particularly the angle at which is was placed, that led to Tori Stafford.
July 19, 2009, was a sunny Sunday, and Det. Staff Sgt. Jim Smyth was driving through tiny Mount Forest, north of Guelph. He was on his way back to Woodstock from OPP headquarters in Orillia and, though not familiar with the area, decided to take a back-roads route because he’d just learned that a call made from Michael Rafferty’s cellphone April 8 had been routed through a tower near Mount Forest.
That’s when he spotted the bungalow, eerily like the one Terri-Lynne McClintic had described.
Within hours, he had found Tori’s body, the little Woodstock girl whose body police had been trying to find for more than three months, in the biggest investigation ever undertaken in the province.

Tori Stafford murder trial: McClintic was killings mastermind, lawyer charges
LONDON, ONT. Terri-Lynne McClintic abducted and murdered Tori Stafford to settle a drug debt and even offered the little girl sexually to her then boyfriend Michael Rafferty.
When Rafferty turned down that gift, McClintic told him to drive north, ostensibly to a safe house. But in a secluded laneway in rural Mount Forest, McClintic asked Rafferty for a little time alone to talk to Tori. When he returned to the car, McClintic had hammered her to death.

Lonely, isolated place where Tori Stafford killed gets visit from jurors
LONDON, Ont. - Standing in the spot where Victoria Stafford was allegedly raped and killed, there is little except trees and open fields as far as the eye can see a few silos in the distance and the closest house well out of earshot.
Jurors deciding the case of a man accused of killing the eight-year-old girl saw for themselves Monday the isolation of where Tori's battered body would be left buried for months under rocks beneath an evergreen tree 132 kilometres from her home.
What jurors saw was not evidence, but it was hoped the visit would give them a better understanding of the evidence, Ontario Superior Court Justice Thomas Heeney told them last week.

I want them both rotting in Hell, too, hon!!
Just can't fathom the crap floating around in McClintic's mind...I know there are a whole LOT of crazies out there, but to kidnap a child, offer her up in exchange for release from a drug debt, then beat her to dead with a hammer...I think she has an iceberg for a soul...if she has any at all.
ALMOST makes me feel sorry for Rafferty...I'm betting he had no idea just how f-ed up she really is.
And he "hitched his wagon" to that...YIKES!!

If we are to believe the Defense and Rafferty he was just the poor scared Chauffeur to this insane murderer. So if no rape why take a little girl at all? Why is your vehicles back seat still missing to this day? Why are Tori's tights, shoes and skirt still missing to this day? I highly doubt the blows suffered by Tori took place in the back seat of that car. Especially force inflicted and fact ME testified to kicking and or stomping. So what took place in that back seat. Not rocket science.

Tori Stafford trial: Coroner back on stand for cross-examination
LONDON, Ont. The forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Victoria (Tori) Stafford will face cross-examination Wednesday by lawyers representing the man charged in the young Ontario girl's murder.
On Tuesday, Dr. Michael Pollanen told jurors hearing the first-degree murder trial of Michael Rafferty that when he examined the eight-year-old's remains in July 2009 more than three months after she went missing they were so decomposed it could not be determined whether she had suffered any sexual assault.
Rafferty, 31, has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and sexual assault causing bodily harm in the Grade 3 student's death.
Stafford was last seen on April 8, 2009, outside her school in Woodstock, Ont., a small city 145 kilometres west of Toronto.
Her battered body was found on July 19, 2009, in two garbage bags buried underneath a rock pile in a rural clearing near Mount Forest, Ont., nearly two hours away by car.

16 fractured ribs and her face smashed to smithereens: Jury see horrific photos of eight-year-old girl abducted, raped and murdered on way home from school
The horrifying brutality with which an eight-year-old girl was raped and murdered has been laid bare as graphic photographs of her mutilated body were shown to a packed courtroom.
Tori Stafford may still have been alive as she was being stamped on and beaten with a hammer before her corpse was stuffed into plastic bags and buried beneath a pile of rocks, jurors heard.
But perhaps most haunting of all, was what she was wearing when her decomposed body was found 103 days later - just a Hannah Montana t-shirt with the words: 'A girl can dream.'

I think the defense is taking advantage of the forensic pathologist not being able to make that determination. But, I guess that is what people in the defense seat try to do.
http://www.canada.com/news/Blatchfor...092/story.htmlFirst, the little girl's body was so badly decomposed that there was no evidence of sexual interference because the area was essentially obliterated, and her body was partially skeletonized.
If the statement he made to TLM attributed to him is true, about she should have selected a younger girl, then I'm betting a rape took place. So, I wonder how the conversation took place. Did he say, you owe me money (I guess he was the one she owed it to?) but if you get me a little girl for sex, we'll call it even? Or, did she say, I owe you money, if I get you a little girl for sex, can we call it even? Either way, both should go away for the longest time possible.
Now, for the sentence for TLM (remembering from another Canadian case.) Does life in prison mean life? Or, is there automatic parole in Canada? In KS, it used to be an automatic parole after I think 25 years. Then there was the Hard Forty, meaning one had to serve 40 years before parole. And, thank goodness we also now have Life without parole. We also have the DP, but I can't remember the last time any of the people on DR have actually been executed. My invisible friend says you have issues.

Life in Canada does not mean life. Means 25 years. I am not understanding why she is not deemed a Dangerous Offender. Her writings state she would do it again. Amongst other reasons. That's the only way we can hang on to these %!*&! forever. Paul Bernardo is held as a Dangerous Offender. Application is made to the Court and Offender must meet the criteria. I'll go find a link.

Thanks. So, ours is life w/the possibility of parole in 25 years. @ that time, parole hearings are held, where victims' families, friends, law enforcement, prosecutors, etc, can speak as to why they feel parole should not be granted.
For the worst of the offenders, say Bernardo what's his name, and the pig farm murderer---can they (the Crown) go to the court in 25 years to ask he remain incarcerated? Or, do they have to let him out w/the LTO thing. Because, really, there are people so evil they should never, ever be out of their small cell. He will only be 54 @ the end of his 25 yr sentence, that's certainly young enough to pick up where he left off.My invisible friend says you have issues.
-
04-04-2012 09:52 PM #80
No Bernardo will never get out or the Pig Farmer. It's a given with Dangerous Offenders handed down from the Courts due to their crimes. They were given Dangerous Offender status some time after their convictions. Not sure on exact time frame but soon after. They would never find a Judge to grant a release. From what i hear of those who have seen Bernardo he is barely functioning as a human (not that he ever was) YEAH!!!!!
