Scheduling conflict came up with my Daughter so we postponed Hunger Games til next Wednesday.

HA! I think we'll be seeing it the same day. A friend saw it and I stopped her from spilling any beans, but it was so good she bought the book.

Most of the people I hear locally talking about the film have read the book(s.) Those that have also seen the film do say this film follows the book much more closely than most book-to-films do. And, they all really liked the movie and some also took their pre-teen children to see it.

I should have read "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" before seeing the movie. The size of that book was daunting considering i had 2 books awaiting me. Kinda forgot about it then a co-worker handed me a burned copy of the movie. I think i would have understood the character better had a read the book first. Her character kinda freaked me out in the movie. Maybe because there was so much mystery with her the book explains but the movie doesn't. Jury is still out with me as to whether i liked the movie. It left me unsettled.

I totally agree. I am so glad you are okay BoB and getting out of there was good. She was probably having a psychotic episode and probably not remember it. sara

Our "could be a few hours, could be a few days" has extended into the few days portion. Daddy looks bad part of the time, other times looks like he is resting, color is good, face is relaxed. Not sure if he is hanging on til the last sister gets here (today or tomorrow) or maybe he's hanging on til the 26th so Momma can have her 65th wedding anniversary w/him. Poor Momma, last night she asked, now, why is everyone coming here? Are we having a family reunion? (Bawling my eyes out icon goes here.) I guess Alzheimers can be a blessing in some of this. There are a couple of sideshows boiling under the surface, but there are enough of us to keep them from taking place in front of the folks, if they start to raise their ugly heads.

And I work with great people. I called my boss Thursday evening, was to work Friday. Without even checking to see how things will be covered (we have been exceptionally busy and working extra as it is) she said "tomorrow is covered." Today I got a text from a co-worker who says her position on OB is covered for Monday so she can work for me in NBI.

The most wonderful, kindest, patient man in the world died last night. All 7 of us kids have been there for the past couple of days. Several out of town grandchildren have been, too. Mom was aware last night, spent a few minutes a couple of times alone w/him. She was asleep when I left town this am, so don't know how well she is doing today. He did look comfortable, peaceful, there have been few times in the past 2 months especially when he looked so peaceful.

Generally Sara, Northern and Southern California don't feel each other's quakes. They are different here than that Back East thing, where they travel so freaking far....

Isn't it a matter of north and south California being on different tectonic plates??

It's been a long time since I checked out a map on it. But just being that close to the "Ring of Fire" would have me on pins and needles...all the snow and crappy weather we get here in WNY is a picnic next to the havoc and devastation on the West Coast. I think I'll stay here...

Not exactly. But what I have heard about you guys is there is a vast granite hunk under you and it can "ing like a bell" and that is why is goes so far. With us, there is so much fragmentation, it absorbs the energy over distances. Also, we have many faults, and I am not as likely to feel something on the San Andreas, unless it is a whopper like 1989, than one right on my fault.
