I'm an outsider, looking in - so tear this thread apart as you like - I just want answers like everyone.
This thread is to analyze the alleged murder weapons - nothing else. I would like to keep it simple with fact, theory, and focused on subject - not straying to other topics. I'm trying to be non-bias, but I invite all accusation.
From my gather.
"An autopsy report form the state medical examiner's office said Dirksmeyer died from multiple blunt- and sharp-force injuries. The injuries included stab wounds to the back right side of the neck and superficial cuts on the front and right side of the neck, shoulder and ear. Bacon declined to say what weapon might have been used, but says a weapon has been found. The report says there was no sign of sexual assault." (Superficial: lying on, not penetrating below, or affecting only the surface).
The weapons were alleged (defined: to assert without proof or before proving). They were also left on scene. One had several fingerprints and a blood print. The other was clean.
The cutting weapon (knife?)
This was probably the first weapon used. I don't much anything on this - except that she had multiple cuts around the neck.
If the knife, at the scene, was a weapon - why was it cleaned and left at the scene?
The lamp. An odd choice to me. Probably the final weapon. It tells me this probably was not premeditated - or the victim was not dying as fast as the suspect would have liked.
If the lamp was the weapon, why was it left on the ground - instead of cleaned and set back up?
Is it possible that she was stabbed, the killer left the scene and came back to find her barely alive - then finished by using the lamp?

Speculation on remaining evidence
I do not believe this damage occurred the day of the murder. I believe this banging would have drawn attention from neighbors. From reported interviews, I believe this damage occurred from the "wrist thing" wearer.
Broken fingernail in carpet
I believe this evidence should have been used like Cinderella's slipper – photographing every suspects hand for comparison. Not just one suspect.
Popcorn bag and Straws
I haven't been able to relate the bathroom trash to the murder. If anything, they could have lifted ND's fingerprint from here, or just opened her purse for multiple fingerprints from her. Just because of bodily decay - we did not lose this evidence. The ability to distinguish her prints from others.
Jeans, bra and panties
I do not think she took a shower before going to the 8am class – I think she was nude, either getting ready to shower or just stepping out. On the other hand - the nudity was possibly an act of humiliation or staging. An act of sex? Perhaps, but why would she not go through with it?
I do not think she was expecting the attacker, or did not know he/she were in the house. I think the person brought the line to the attack in premeditation.
Seeing that these can be heavy and easily gripable from the inside - it would make a good weapon. I would have tested the inside and wax for finger impressions/fingernail marks.
Blood-smeared Venetian blinds
I think closing the blinds was an after-thought.
Blood-smeared Oven Door
I believe there would have been a towel hanging from the oven door that was used to clean up evidence - then taken with the murderer. I believe the knife and lamp were wiped clean with this also.
Blood-smeared Light Switch
Another after-thought, to darken the room to outsiders.
Lamp in 3 pieces, and removed shade
I can not explain the lamp in 3 pieces - was it broken, unscrewed or what? It also seems that the shade would have some blood on it. The lamp has always been the "alleged" murder weapon - so, there is a small possibility of it being part of staging - nothing more. The murderer could have left with the real weapon.
Clump of blond hair, broken at both ends, in the carpet
-Possible Staging attempts? Is broken the same as "cut"? Are clumps of hair easy to "break"?
Condom wrapper on kitchen counter, next to living room
An odd place for a condom wrapper?
Samsung Flip-type Cell Phone (missing battery)
She had used it that day a few times. It was found on the floor. Could it have been thrown - and why? Was someone else there to open her message from Trey York - I would think she would have answered his message.
Thermostat (turned off)
Means little to me. Smart Staging? Possibly.
Sliding-door locking-stick (Missing)
I think this evidence is directly linked. The past tenants said that there use to be a blue stick - and I believe this still remained until that day. The murderer possibly wanted the apartment to appear locked up.

Talk moves very fast in small towns. I think that KJ was definitely talking. Possibly to the girl that would listen. I think this is how things got put on the internet prematurely. The way that she was handled, I do not doubt that KJ would have known what had killed her.
Section of Bloody Carpet
Her Computer and files
Means little to me at this point.
Bloody Fingerprint on Bulb
Blood on the bulb, but not on the shade...? Oddly careful murderer? I do not think the bulb was touched at the time of murder. I think this evidence mislead the whole case - whether KJ is guilty or not.- living with this guilt, is beyond my understanding -
There is more evidence to the Dirksmeyer case out there - it is just a matter of uncovering it. In time, this case can and will be solved.

IIRC, the knife found at the scene yielded no traces of blood, but did have a spot of something on it that was determined not to be blood. IMO, a cleaning thorough enough to remove all traces of blood would have likely also removed that spot. JMO, but I don't think the knife at the scene was the weapon.

Froim what I have been told the Fingernail was not broken, it was a full fingernail like someone would have bit and tore it off. That was why the defense only brought it up and did not jump all over it. IMO
Popcorn Bag and Straws
I do not think it was of improtance. From the officers that I spoke with the cups were pushed down into the trash can and the popcorn bag was ontop. I don't think the killer would have eaten popcorn that day, and by KJ's own admission he was there a couple of nights before to watch a movie. IMO
Jeans and Panites
I would agree that she did not take a shower before the 8am test. But I think that she came home and was awakend by the phone calls and then took a shower. That was when she was attacked. IMO
From what I have heard of Frost's testimony there was no mention of clothes line. If there had been some there If Frost didn't bring it up you know that the defense would have. IMO
Again from testimony the candle was processed for fingerprints and only smears were recovered. IMO
Blood smeared blinds
I think that who ever killed her took the stick from the door and they had blood on their hands and touch the blinds to take the stick. IMO
Blood Smeared oven door
I can agree with that.
Blood Smeared light switch
I can agree with that also.
Lamp in 3 pieces
I think that Frost testified that the threads of the lamp were damaged causing the lamp to come apart. I think that there was another weapon to cause the sharp force injuries and it was taken with him/her. IMO
Clump of Hair
I have no opinon of this.
I agree. This could have been, as the prosecuor had stated the "trigger" of the whole thing. Or it could have been part of the stagging. Who knows? IMO
The placement of the phone is troubling. The lack of the battery is also troubling. Why would somebody take the time to take the battery and not just take the phone?
I disagree. It was reported that Tom Bevel testified that the blood on the bulb was not cogulated but the blood on KJ's hand was. This is important because if he did touch it when he found her why would the blood not be the same? Also if there was a possiblity that he could have touched it why didn't he just come out and tell the investigators that it was possible that he touched it but he didn't remember? If he really did not do thsi he put himself right in the middle of it and in a bad spot.

With this Dunn guy, I'm starting to wonder more about the stick. . . wondering if it was the murder weapon??? If premeditated, I bet the knife came and went with Dunn if he is our man.Jonesin' to know who-"dunn"-it.

Wasn't there testimony that the lamp was the murder weapon?
