I know whatcha mean; sometimes just putting it into words really does help, even if no one ever reads it. Just think how much better you'll feel after a coupla hunnert people read it.

What is our buddy deacon always says? You can't fix stupid? Well, out of all the bona fide geniuses in my family, my father's failing health and mind is now largely in the hands of two incompetents. And believe me, if the old bigot knew the truth about my brother, he'd either stroke out or disown him. But it's a Big Damned Secret, so don't say anything. Shhhhh

You were up early today! Glad y'all had a nice time and congrats on the shoosies.

Anyway, once you get back on schedule and are getting around more, the neighbors will see that you're okay and word will get out that you had surgery and they'll feel like idiots for even thinking ridiculous thoughts about Rickles or that you would put up with such a thing. You do have to wonder what was behind your sis thinking that you would contemplate hurting yourself. WTF?? She may have some major frustrations in her own life. In time you can hash it out and things will be back to normal. And maybe you can make her understand that if you ever hang yourself, Rickles will call her first.

Oh Em Gee, Beem, that is nucking futs! Wonder if Hallmark makes a Just Now Finally Recovering from Knee Surgery Card - Do Drop By card that you could send to the neighbors?! I sorta understand about the sister thing - had a great relationship with mine since we both returned to the area years ago with minor flareups, but it was because she's just sort of non-functioning in a lot of ways and fairly hypocritical. But I was glad to be there for her and help her with various boondoggles that were mostly financial. Now she and my oldest brother have caused this sh!t storm in the family dynamic which they apparently have no intention of even trying to fix. So I really have to practice those STOP techniques to force them all out of my mind. My brothers life is an entire lie and sister has some significant issues to deal with and I know the others aren't going to be there for her, so I have to watch it or I laugh the evil laugh at them and any pain they causes themselves. MUAHAHA

I sure wish your werk mate luck with her situation; my own family dysfunction is maddening, but this would be unbearable. Just can't imagine.

Hope you got the good traveling weather for today. Can't wait to hear all about it. Trees have really started changing here the past couple of days - hope y'all get to see some colors too.

SOA is addictive and brutal, but there is a subtle humor about it. Guess that's a big part of what I love about it.

Is the boy living back at home after this latest trouble? Gee, trouble doesn't really describe it, does it? Sure hope they're being careful. If nothing else, they should sit down with the family doctor or someone who can point them in the right direction to find out what they're really dealing with. Sad. But don't you go to her house! Meet her somewhere.

I do missing hearing from MLL, but we get cut off half the time we talk or text, so I'm trying to be patient.

Wow, Sons of Anarchy was rough tonight (again!). I'm almost ashamed to admit that when one woman got shot in the head I laughed at the shooter's comment.

Righto Beem, and do these parents not worry that they could become victims themselves, let alone innocents in the community? Not blaming them for being naive, but they've got to step up and get him in the hands of someone who can help. Their child is ill and they can't help. What're they going to do about that? If he had cancer or a communicable disease wouldn't they do something? Anything? No telling what he's gotten away with in the past, but there could be a sh!tstorm that's hard to handle if he doesn't get help.

That makes sense that when the kiddos are far away or out of touch that there's more to worry about. Just miss hearing the sound of his voice.

Almost too bad that the kid in trouble is already 18, but the parents can still intervene - they need to get tough - for him and for themselves. And for the community! Grr Doesn't really sound like the fancy schmancy attorney will be doing him any favors if he doesn't get help and a good diagnosis and treatment plan takes time - it's not going to happen overnight. Sad and not sure how I would handle such a situation - but it wouldn't be throw money at it! So happy for your friends that they have the little dog. Amazing how a pet can make all the difference in the world on outlook.

Oh yeah, MLL knows I'm here anytime for whatever he needs even if it's just a pep talk and gets a little panicked(or maybe peeved?) if I miss a call or text. I try not to worry when he's out of touch and remind myself that he's a good driver and cautious and Lord knows he does't get in a big damned hurry to do much of anything, so he's going to be pretty safe whatever he's doing.

Good grief, I thought I sent that an hour ago. Anyway, You asked about MLL earlier; he's doing well and working all the time, but bad connections make it almost impossible to hear from his as often as I'd like. Oh well, he may not miss hearing from me as much as I do him.

So glad Rickles had the time and would take the time to be with y'alls' friend. Probably means much more than anyone can imagine - just to be in nature and hit something! There is likely nothing the parents could do at this point to help the child short of locking her upagainst her will and no one expects them to have done that. God bless them - it's going to take time to heal. This other young 'un - how old is he? At this critical time, the parents should step up and do something/anything even if drastic and then they'll know they've done all they can. Let's' hope no one else is hurt, or worse, in the meantime.

I hear you on the graduation; you do feel a tremendous and deserved sense of accomplishment. Especially for the third time. Yeah, MLL knew that helping him financially and providing a vehicle and sending good thoughts his way was his gift - Lord knows it took him long enough.
