Babysitter charged for brain injury of 8-month-old

BRENTWOOD, N.H. (FOX 25 / myfoxboston) - A babysitter was arrested on Friday in the assault of the 8-month-old baby that was in her care
Elizabeth Torrey, 26, was arrested at her Candia home.
The charges stem from an incident in which the baby suffered a brain injury on June 9 while he was in Torrey’s care. The baby is still in critical condition at a hospital.
There is no word on the circumstances behind the injury.
Torrey has been charged with first degree assault. Bail was set at $500 cash bail. She was also ordered to surrender her passport and have no contact with the victim or his family. She is due back in court on Aug. 4.
The case is still being investigated by police and child welfare officials.
